help to config a secure wep

Hi guys;i want to make a wireless wap secure,i connected a Toshiba WRC_1000 to ComCast TG862 main router but some linux ops pc wont connect to the secure wi-fi so i connected my own router and i went in the WRC 1000 but need instructions on how to make it secure?
This page has the parameters to configure the Wireless LAN Security interface.
can you in detail tell me what #'s and lettersi should put in the boxes

i can break WEP in about 7 seconds, you need WPA
and a big password that is not just a word or string of numbers.

There's no such thing as secure WEP.
You need to use WPA or, if your router is only supports WEP, get a proper router which supports WPA.

Re: help to config a secure wep

if by open you mean break,
the only real weakness on wpa is dictionary attacks or bruteforce using scaled cluster computing using ps3's or gpu's

I got Beini but looks like the dictionary is empty.

            Thanks for the info.

Have a look at this http://www.blackmoreops.com/2014/03/...yrit-cowpatty/

Also if WPS is enabled on the AP then that is easier to crack than trying to bruteforce the wpa/wpa2 password.

That depends on the router. Some routers have countermeasures against WPS brute-force attack.

Tkip on wpa has security issues that can let it be cracked, though not nearly as easily wep

                      use WPA/2 AES

Cracked cracked and cracked. NSA is in your router stealing your packets.

Make a long random passphase and forget to change log in or shut down remote log in.

The easiest way to secure WEP is to not use it! Please use WPA/2 AES at least.

hI mhanddley92: can you teach how to do a secure WEP that can be used on Toshiba WRC1000 wireless router that i have connected to Comcast TG862 Xfinity router to use
with my old wireless Linux and win Xp computers,

I've been using it without secure WEP and i don't want people next to my Apartment to use my wireless,

the Xfiniy TG862 router wireless only works with win7 OPS or very recent new hardware PCs with linux or win xp

This is what i get when i enter the Toshiba WRC1000 WEP secure wireless
                            menu.Thanks in advance.

If you insist on using WEP, then at least use MAC address filtering. That would make it somewhat secure.

                                      no it wouldnt.

a wifi scanner will give the mac's of any connecting clients.
a single command will then change the mac of the attackers nic.

                                          Hi,

I have an ASROCK Z270 GAMING-ITX/AC motherboard with a fried VCORE controller IR35201 (International Rectifier, currently Infineon).

This chip is unfortunately programmable, so after replacing the chip, it needs to be programmed with a config file, which I do not have, as the chips is not readable any more (total short on power supply pin).

Some of you maybe know, it is possible to read out the config file from a board with a working chip using the USB005 I2C adapter and IR/Infineon software called PowIRCenter. The software is available freely at Infinion...

                                          Hello.
I tried to add a custom secure boot key (for secure booting Linux) to my bios, but after this, my laptop bricked. After adding secure boot key (via PowerShell) and enabling secure boot my laptop turns on, shows HP logo, and after 5 seconds it turns off and on, and it repeats forever.

My goal is to either turn off secure boot or remove my custom key from BIOS dump.

I'll attach my bios dump (version R79_011700) from my bios chip 25b127dsig, my keys (PK/KEK/db), and bios dump from another HP ProBook 445R G6(I found it on this forum. URL: https://www.ba...

UPNP, "Standards" and hardware that implements it

I've been writing a program in Java that is really just a robust front end for the use of GitHiub Gists, providing a nice interface for developers to organize, maintain and access code snippets that we tend to need from time to time in our different projects.

One of the features of the program is the ability for people to share their Gists with others who use the program over a LAN or over the Internet. The program just basically serializes a Java class and encrypts it then wraps it into a UDP datastream and sends it over to another user.

So I decided to implement UPNP...

                                          Hello,

I have a Lenovo T15 gen 1 where I can't get the secure boot disabled. I think it is related to the security chip. The BIOS is completely free, no password or anything. The only problem is that the option to disable secure boot is grayed out. Trying to boot it, GRUB 2.02 starts and expects a certain Software. If you want to change something you need to enter a username and password. While experimenting, I was able to load the firmware from the hard drive. There I found signed files, in one also the hashed password (cracking probably not possible in lifetime). It was probably...
