    Netgear GS108

Had 5 Teapo caps. three SEK and two SC. Only one was bulged, but 4 out of 5 were out of spec. All four failed high ESR and 3 out of the 4 failed were low capacitance as well.

If anyone has one of these that has intermittent issues, and the caps looks fine, change them anyways!!! It wouldn't get internet access, and it would power off after 2 minutes.

Isn't this one of the models that has the lifetime warranty?

I think it depends on when it was originally purchased. They do now, though.

I had the same issues with a progear gs116 (16 port version).

It was definitely a bad capacitor as it was bulging

they replaced it under warranty though.

Check the wall wart adapters on these switches...

The lone filtering capacitor is often of poor quality and passes quite a bit of ripple to the caps inside the switch.

How many of you have seen failed Panasonics!?
                by keldeo
In my experience, I've seen failed Taiwan/Chinese caps, obviously as I'm sure all of us had. I've also seen the defective Nichicon and Chemi Con series. Even seen failed Rubycons (MBZ I think?) if they are exposed to a lot of stress and heat. I've never seen failed Panasonics until now! Not just one, but 3! Also in seemingly random locations on the motherboard. Next to the RAM and CPU, but not t part of the VRM. It felt like I spotted a Unicorn, so I had to make this post. Motherboard is a IPIBL-LA. OEM from HP.

Unfortunately, I do not know the history behind this PC, it also had...

🚨 Need Help Reviving an Acer X4690G After Failed BIOS Update
                by codeace110
                Hey guys,

I tried updating the BIOS on my Acer X4690G, but the power got interrupted mid-update, and now the BIOS is corrupted. The system won’t boot properly anymore.

Has anyone dealt with this kind of failed flash before? Any tips on how I can recover or fix the BIOS?

I already searched everywhere for a BIOS dump specific to the X4690G, but I couldn’t find any. If anyone has a working dump, a backup, or knows where I can get one, please let me know.

Here’s a dump of my corrupted BIOS, and I’ve also included the .CAP BIOS file I downloaded...

MacBook Pro 13" Touchbar, model A1706 - Critical software update failed
                by survivalbloke
This machine came in with a no power complaint after a liquid spill. The only damage I found was on the two USB-C boards, so I replaced those, and the machine charges and fires up. However, if the internal LCD is connected to the logic board, when it boots, I will get a critical update failed warning and the only options are to shut down or try again - it's a loop. I am able to start up fine in safe boot. If I disconnect the internal LCD, I am able to boot normally to the OS. The customer doesn't want to invest any more money beyond what I already charged. Unfortunately, based on what I...
