Hi hoaca388, thank you for the reply. I tried reading the BIOS SOIC16 chip multiple times and it always gives the same file size. I think the chip was wiped during the BIOS update, and then the power got interrupted. This is my first job as a computer tech, and I feel like I messed up badly. I don’t even know what to say to the client anymore… it was an honest mistake though.... -
🚨 Need Help Reviving an Acer X4690G After Failed BIOS Update
Hey guys,
I tried updating the BIOS on my Acer X4690G, but the power got interrupted mid-update, and now the BIOS is corrupted. The system won’t boot properly anymore.
Has anyone dealt with this kind of failed flash before? Any tips on how I can recover or fix the BIOS?
I already searched everywhere for a BIOS dump specific to the X4690G, but I couldn’t find any. If anyone has a working dump, a backup, or knows where I can get one, please let me know.
Here’s a dump of my corrupted BIOS, and I’ve also included the .CAP BIOS file I downloaded...
