I use a 24 port network switch and only one Ethernet cable going to the router. Everything gets plugged into the switch and let the router do the DHCP.
Not sure what your NAS problem is, but mine works fine (Synology). What you don't want to do is to cheap out on ports on the switch and have multiple smaller switches on the router itself. That creates a ton of extra data traffic and maybe even loops and slows the network down considerably.Comment

My question is should I get a router that has both POE and non POE is there advantages over just getting a POE routerComment

Depends on how many POE devices you want to use really - there's no difference other than being able to power devices over ethernet. POE switches tend to cost more than the non POE equivalent.https://factory-reset.com - Factory Reset / Service Menu guides.Comment

by double_DDHi all,
It's gonna be a long intro, so please buckle in, as it's a problem that's been bugging me for several days now. Thanks in advance.
So, I have 2 modems/routers, whatever the proper nomenclature is, one from ISP and one mine. I want to power them via USB-C rather then their original mains adapters (for reasons, that are hard to explain to sane people). Both routers come with 12V/3A mains adapters.
For this purpose I acquired USB-C charger with 250W and 5 ports, 2 of which can supply max 20V/3A. Since 12V isn't a standard PD voltage option (and to future proof,... -
by maybepanicHey,
I've got a liquid damaged HP Probook 450 g5.
There was a lot of corrosion around the Paradetech PS8743B B1 chip, plus what looks like heat damage from a short. There are no schematics available for the board, nor could I find any schematics from paradetech for the USB-C / Display port switcher.
Is there anything else I can do to increase my chances of fixing the board apart from checking for shorts around the ic and replacing it?
Attached some pics of my liquid damaged board, closeup of the cleaned ic and a pic of a good board I found online.
Thanks!...06-07-2023, 04:30 AM -
I have an SMPS where the TOP244PN switching IC is used to power the standby section. I am not able to get this IC locally, is there any alternative in the TNY switcher series I can use in its place?
Also, can I use the TOP244YN package in place of this TOP244PN package? It seems in the PN package they have combined the X and L pins of the YN package and made single M line.... -

by paparazzo79Hi friends.
I purchased HDMI switcher so I could use both PC over one monitor.
But I'm anxious to use it.
Are these stuff safe to use?
I'm affraid of short circuit over to monitor or even graphics card.
Could not find who made this one, seems unknown.... - Loading...
