As I said, the resistance of the rubber is relatively high. This is not a problem because there is a high voltage but low current. Consequently there is a low voltage drop across the junction of lamp an rubber. That is to say that you do no need to use a very low resistance material.

Still silver is certainly the best conductor, followed by copper. Gold does oxidize the least. Just use copper coated with silver or tin. You can wrap the tube's wire with that other wire (should be thin). If it fails again you know where to look

I was wondering about the shielding that some cables have - I have used tv coax shielding as soldermop before. Only thing is that for the short length required it may unravel.
Perhaps something out of an audio cable or datacable if you have any.
Soldermop/solderwick is usually impregnated with flux so perhaps need to try and clean that before using for this?
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

That might be even better. Flux indeed does not conduct well.

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
            by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Dell G15 5510 troubleshoot non-working dGPU or disabling it
            by openminded
            hi,

            I have a Dell G15 5510 with an intel 10th gen 8 core and I believe a RTX 3060.
I bought it as is and it seems to have had some liquid spill.

Currently the dGPU is not shown in the BIOS and does not seem to work at all ( not in dev manager either ).
Besides that, some keys on the keyboard don“t work, but it seems everything else is ok - works from power, battery, charges. etc.

            I found the schematic here : https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...mobile-devices...

Dell 2209WA - power supply - Fusible Resistor replacement
            by jinu_j
            Hi

I am trying to repair an ancient Dell 2209WA Monitor which suddenly shut off with a pop sound. On investigation found that one of the fusible resistors had blown. Further investigation identified multiple components as faulty because of which the fusible resistor blew. Please refer the attached circuit diagram showing the components that were found to be damaged.

            1. FR950 - blown fusible resistor - 0.2 Ohm 1W
            2. Q950 - shorted Q950 MOSFET - 650V 10A N Channel Mosfet
            3. R835 - Blown Resistor - 20KOhm SMD resistor
            4. D930 - Shorted Schottkey Diode...

Dell Pro 13 Plus PB13250 Bios Unlock
            by Akhlz001
            Hi,

Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate...

Dell Inspiron 5590 Board 18778-1 no charging, charging not possible
            by master3112
I would like to share my experience about charging issues with Dell power supplies with the tech community. I am working on a Dell Inspiron 5590, Mainboard 18778-1 with charging problems. The device can be switched on and works so far, only the message appears at startup:

Alert! The AC power adapter wattage and Type cannot be determined. The battery may not change. The System will adjust the performace to match the power available.

The power supply unit is not recognized in the Bios and the charging process is set to "idle". I use original Dell battery, type...
