I have a Hanns-G HL272 27" monitor with a dead PSU. Can any one the me what this part is and where I can get a data sheet on it.

That is SMPS IC. What are numbers as printed on top? It looks like ????2136?

Nothing I can find. Can you zoom out a little so I can see how it is connected to other section of the board?
Also the pictures of whole board both sides.

What readings do you have to suggest IC1 is bad?

Any secondary DC voltages or voltage across the big filter capacitor?

My HL272;s backlighting has gone out and I'm having a heckuva time trying to do the simplest thing...getting the case open. There are only 4 measly screws along the bottom, but no others. I checked under the sticker in the middle...

..how do you get the case off? I'm at an impasse without ricking snapping something.

OK, I got it off...about broke the frame in the process....I was able to find another close-enough model here on these forums to help guide me.

@Face275 I have the same issue with the same monitor. Any tips or pics of how to crack the case? I have done this many times with other monitors, but this one is tight and if there is a proper way to crack it I would appreciate any info.

I'm going to reply here in case anyone in the future runs into this thread like I did just now 5 years later. Getting this thing off is simple but annoying. The screw on the back don't really do anything in this regard. You need to get a pry tool or credit card or flathead screw driver. and starting from the corners start slightly prying the outside front frame open. once you get it a little loose, you can just grab the frame with both hands. It gonna feel like its going to break but you need to yank it REALLY hard, and the corners EVEN harder.

Once you get the frame off to get the screen out simply use a flathead screwdriver and use the leverage to push it out. The rest is pretty simple. Do it slowly, you will be frustrated.

Good morning everyone, sorry to jump on this thread with another problem (Admins please move to the correct area if this is inappropriate) as I am a newbie lol.

I have stumbled across this forum while searching for help with a Hanns.G HL272 monitor that has suddenly gone very dim, you can only just see the picture.

I have successfully managed to open the monitor and have removed the PSU board upon doing this I have found that there is evidence of severe heating up around Semiconductor Q11 and diodes D22 & D23.

I am not sure of what Q11 does or indeed what type of semiconductor it is as I can't make out any identification on the component but it will need to be replaced.

Does anyone have any help they can give me on the dim display fault, my thinking is that there is an issue with the 12vdc supply for the LED backlights, if someone has a circuit diagram they could give me that would be a massive help too.

I will post pictures once I have fathomed out how to do it.
