The screen turns on and is bright white. I have checked for bad caps, checked the fuse on the T-con board and checked the power going into the T-con board. From the spec sheet I found it says the four vdd pins for the T-con should be 5 volts, they are less than 4. Could this be the cause of my problem? All help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Flatron l246wp-bn White Screen
The 5V off the power supply does read 5V, but oddly the 12V reads 14.4V.
Edit: I wanted to test the voltage on the T-Con again for good measure and realized the markings on the board don't actually correspond to the connector. So I tested with the proper pins and the voltage read 4.85, so I guess that's not the issue.Last edited by Dragunbayne; 10-14-2013, 07:48 AM.Comment

Re: Flatron l246wp-bn White Screen
Post pictures of the t-con board. In particular, there should be a round inductor inductor somewhere on the t-con. It's usually somewhat near the t-con connector. This is the main area of interest, so take more pictures of that area and post them here.
Also, see if any component on the t-con gets hot when you try to power on the monitor.Comment

The chip is not labelled. The board model is M240UW01 if that helps.Comment

Sorry, I don't see any labeling on the chip. Here is a close up:

Re: Flatron l246wp-bn White Screen
HA! I just zoomed in on the picture and I can see it is an AS15. It's very difficult to see the writing on the chip physically but it can be seen pretty clearly in the picture. Is this likely the issue then?Comment

by Daren87Hello everyone,
I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the... -
by harpTo ask here... I have few devices with white screen problem, actualy nokia 2220 and some fuji? camera, and try to understand what is common problem to cause that issue.
Yes, both devices work everything else probably ok, I mean, I hear intro melody and keypress click sound, DTMF tone, power on off... all ok.
On desk is nokia 2220 slide, and I check all screen connectors and components arround it, measure voltage drop, but all looks ok. I suspect on slide flex cable, but it look ok and white screen is not interupt while flexing board, pushing conectors, and sliding up down. In attachment... -
by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by x_orange90_xJust bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

by alltvrepairsHi,
i have a 65 Panasonic TX-65HX710E using vestel 17MB170 main and Lg tcon.
Few drops of water fell probably near COF and have no display. Tried removing tabs but no.part of display present as if tcon fuse open. However 12v is present and tcon can be felt warm enough that supplies are present. Backlight and sound ok.
Anyone knows if this TCon 6870c-0805A has any special test pins for rgb test?
Appreciate your help....2 Photos - Loading...
