I am not sure of the technical name of the connector, but you could buy them on eBay with the wires already attached.

      I bought http://www.ebay.com/itm/10pcs-33cm-L...-/170901888573
      and some http://www.ebay.com/itm/1pc-1m-Unive.../190718837578?

Only problem is they don't sell either of those anymore. You can maybe try Aliexpress, or just take old plugs\wire from a smashed screen or something.

Make sure you if you need to extend the cable that you use proper HV-rated cable with correct insulation, at least 1.5kV rated I think for small screens\lamps, probably want 3kV for bigger ones, same for the heatshrink too of course.

Another option too of course is to just solder the wires underneath the PCB, to the existing solder joints on the pins of the socket on the inverter board during testing, then you don't need plugs.

Cool Idea, I work on a lot of laptops and salvaged a double backlight assembly and have been using it for years. Never thought about using a 120v cfl.

              Hi,

I joined this forum some time ago, but, have remained an infrequent visitor due to job, life and such things.

I saw many posts about opening the CFL by using hacksaw, Vice etc.

I use a fine flat-blade screwdriver that is sturdy (Should not be watchmaker's flat-blade). Just push the blade in to the slot between the cap and lamp base and twist the blade. Some time you may need to poke at 3 - 4 different spots around the circumference of the bulb.

I normally collect the high voltage (AC rectification side) electro-caps and different inductors from these boards. I have found inductors are not readily available in the markets.

hope its okay to bump this.

I have a philips 47pfl5704d / f7 aka (47" lcd tv) with back light issues.

                    see my thread here: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=60783

see my photo: do i just hook up 2 cfl to the psu at the orange triangle?

or is that powering the lcd? I could not locate an inverter board by its self.

the photo is of another tv, but very close to mine

It looks like that LCD panel as shown in the picture used EEFL, not CCFL.
What is your LCD panel model number?

                            OK, LC470WUF, see spec sheet.
it does use CCFL and it has circuit board inside the panel with Balancer cap for each tube, similar setup to this one with a bunch of failed Ballast caps:

                                  Panel is LC500DUE SF/R1

thanks . good idea and now i can test my small sanyo DP19640b 19.2inch led tv. IT lights up and works for about a minute cold then goes dark . every power recycle from then on makes it come on for about 30 seconds and goes dark with sound still there . i was told it might be the backlight . very odd as its the first one i have seen go bad or wear out. its almost always the inverter . i will try it and then i will know !

You have to have 4 working lamps, if one failed or not connected, the inverter will go onto shutdown mode.
Is this also true for the 6 CCFL's models such as the 2407WFPb?

Also, do you think those UV CCFL's would work too? I am an old school computer enthusiast who's been custom building rigs for 30+ years and I have lots of UV type CCFL's, the kinds you use to make PC's look nice and glowing. The one I was thinking of trying is at the link below.

That's a very interesting idea SkOrPn. Technically... or as far as I know... those CCFLs have similar voltage and current requirements, so you might be able to use one to test a monitor inverter. I'm actually very curious if that will work, as there's a computer store near me selling an UV CCFL kit (2 lamps + inverter) for $4 total. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Now, as far as replacing the CCFLs in a monitor with UV CCFLs - I don't know about that. Most likely the colors would be way off or not there at all, as you need a white backlight. And also, a CCFL like that probably won't fit inside a monitor.

                                            Hi all,

I have this Sharp LC-60LE810UN that stays off and blinks a Lamp Error (1 long flash followed by a short flash, in a loop).

I already confirmed that the first backlight strip has an open LED using a LED strip tester. The other 3 LED strips are fine.

Before tearing the LCD panel apart, I want to make sure that the rest of the TV set is good. I've tested the power-supply/LED inverter board by sending 5 volt to PS-ON, to PNL-POW (that commands power the T-CON board only), OFL and STB pins. The power-supply is good.

                                            I've tried all the key...

Hoping someone here can put me on the right track. I'm trying to troubleshoot/flowchart the "internal projector error" on my newly acquired Facebook Marketplace bought Epson 5040UB projector (3LED, not DLP). Owner said it needed new lamp, actually error code blink pattern indicates "Internal Projector Error, call Epson support". Unit is out of warranty as of 8/19

I have a tripp-lite aspint 3636vr inverter charger which blow some of mosfet transistors. I replaced them repaired also the driver circuit and tested but the mosfets burn again.

It work very well as inverter and also as charger if I let the rear switch in auto mode (inverter) and charger only(charging) but in auto when I connect the feed line 220V AC first time it pass ok to line and start charging the batteries but when I remove the feed line it pass to inverter mode and if I do it again the second time when passing from charging to inverter the Main transformer start making a...

For some reason I'm just not going to let this 19" TV defeat me. I guess because I have a schematic to work from I feel like I'm oh so close.

History- while adding a turn-on circuit I let a small screw roll under the power board. Worked through all of that circuitry, probably replacing a MOSFET and PWM controller that were not bad but I was following the service manual. Finally figured out that the power supply is in working order when the inverter section (for the backlights) is disconnected. When the +12 supply to the inverter is disconnected the +12 and +5 will come up...

                                            Hi All.

Does anyone have any reference materials or something I can use to try troubleshooting a BenQ TH681? Google unfortunately has turned up zip. I did find a service manual for a W series BenQ but that is pretty much useless, it's more a glorified user manual. A list of voltages would be great as I suspect my mainboard is faulty, the colour wheel voltage is not dipping like it should.

The one I am troubleshooting now was originally overheating after a lamp replacement. It originally would take 2 minutes or so for it to shut off and blink the temp and lamp lights...
