Re: Samsung SyncMaster B2330 Black screen
Like budm says, it's very possibly bad wiring. I'd hold off buying that power/inverter board from eBay until you have checked this out. Otherwise you could have 2 good boards and no working lamps. You can use a paper towel tube to try and hear where the hissing sound is coming from. It may be inside by the lamps. (also in pure darkness with the back cover off, look for arcing) And don't run it much like bud says, or you could have a major burnout.Leave a comment:

"the upper right hand corner( when the monitor gets hot) it has a black triangle that grows as the monitor gets hotter." Can we see the pictures? It sounds more likely to be bad wiring at the end of the lamp. Do not keep running it like that since that can damage the transformer.Leave a comment:

Re: Samsung SyncMaster B2330 Black screen
also another quick question will this work? it is a different monitor but looks very similar to mine. And its about the same price as the inverter. And its EASYER by 100%+ would this work? the display cable looks identical, as does the button cable. link is below:

Re: Samsung SyncMaster B2330 Black screen
if this little extra information helps their is another screen issue, the upper right hand corner( when the monitor gets hot) it has a black triangle that grows as the monitor gets hotter. when I game is usually when it is noticeable. But that does not bother me Im just saying that if it could help anyone, thank budm, I will look into the inverter transformer, because the hissing sound I doubt is the monitor making that sound and the 1/200 times the monitor works their is no hiss coming from it. So I hope it is the transformer! I will look into it this weekend or next! Any other info from anyone would be greatly appreciated!Leave a comment:

Re: Samsung SyncMaster B2330 Black screen
Hissing sound can be due to bad lamps wiring, bad high voltage winding on the inverter transformer.
You may have to remove the transformer to look at the underside and on the top to see if it has any arcing mark, checking the lamps wiring will be a lot more involve.Leave a comment:

Re: Samsung SyncMaster B2330 Black screen
I have the same b2330 as you, and I have uploaded pictures of the circuit board. 2 days ago it went out randomly and when I turn on the monitor it makes a hissing sound and then shuts off after about 2 seconds. I have no blown capacitors and I do not really know much about circuitry and such but if anyone can help me with this problem that would be great! also one more thing to throw everyone off, like 1 out of 200 tries the monitor will actualy stay on! the pixels always are on it is the black light that stays on 1/200 times. why I have no idea! but if I turn it on and off for like 30 mins the monitor will work completely fine until I turn it off, it goes to sleep, ect. so if anyone can figure this one out id be happy! also the monitor is significantly dimmer than my other monitors and that might have something to do with it as well.
ps: when I say the monitor "shuts off" or "goes out" its the back light, I did the flashlight test and I saw the image on the monitor BEARLY! but I did see them.
also sorry for bump, I just really need this solvedLeave a comment:

Re: Samsung SyncMaster B2330 Black screen
The failure of Vcc to rise to the start voltage is is a common failure mode, replace the FSGM0565R. You may have to use the earlier version, it can be found on eBay as DM0565R

Re: Samsung SyncMaster B2330 Black screen
I have done the measuring all over again and it seem that the IC is bad with according to the datasheet , this morning It read 5.9v on the pin 3 and pin 6 was generating high voltage.

Re: Samsung SyncMaster B2330 Black screen
These are voltages I got on pins 3, was 238v and 6, and was 230v. Is that correct?

Re: Samsung SyncMaster B2330 Black screen
To add a little bit to retiredcaps post, using pin 2 of the IC as ground, CAREFULLY measure the voltages on pins 3 and 6. Pin 3 is Vcc, pin 6 is the source for the startup voltage. the pins are numbered 1 - 6 from left to right,

Re: Samsung SyncMaster B2330 Black screen
Now for some real technical help.
Pin 3 is Vcc. Pin 2 is GND.
According to the datasheet, when Vcc reaches 12V DC, it will start. What DC voltage reading do you get on pin 3 (with pin 2 for ground)?Leave a comment:

by ChrissygizmoHello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same... -
by ChrissygizmoHi , I've recently replaced the screen in my Samsung galaxy ao2s, at first it wouldn't even turn on, it had the charging symbol on the screen when plugged in but the green circle wasn't going around to show it charging....
Ive eventually managed to get it on and working but it's very temperamental...
The battery icon always reads as 50% , when the phone goes into lock screen mode i sometimes can't get the screen back on unless I plug the charger in to get it to light up, also it keeps putting the camera app on.. u think it could be something to do with the side buttons. ...05-26-2024, 12:05 AM -
by JunkmanJimboSamsung UN55J6200AFXZA Splash Screen Comes up, goes out, screen flashes one time and then tv won't turn off.
No picture. No sound that I can tell. Backlights are on and have been checked. Flashlight test no image on screen. I replaced the Eprom chip hoping that was the problem but nothing changed.
Please help. Thanks in advance! -

I've got a Samsung LH82QENELGC/EN with a problem and need some advice and I hope this is the forum to use?
I'm from Norway so I'd like to apology in advance if my description of the fault is kind of simple or the names on the components are way off. 😊
the TV is powering up, working as normally and picture is all good, except a 1.5-inch-wide vertical line of snow/static across the screen.
This TV is a Signage Display/Public Display version and it's been used at my work for 4-5 years showing commercials 24/7. The fault occurred when... -
by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... - Loading...
