    Look for lower ESR.
You are going up by 50%. That's a pretty big step.

KZE is -probably- good enough but, lacking actual data, if they have Panasonic FM or FR that would be better.
    What series Capxon is it?

well it seems I have no choice but to order from the states ..as neither RS, Farnell or Rapid stock All the caps... seems hard to believe they can't be bought in the UK but there you have it

It turns out the items can be ordered from the states via Digi-Key's UK site ..they assure me they have an arrangement with customs and delivery takes 3 days...they say I am liable for the VAT(import tax 20%) ..but are vague on how I pay this exactly ...I have heard of people being charged £30 for a £10 item and their package being held by customs until its paid...so I hope this doesn't turn into an expensive nightmare

digikey want £12/$19 dollars for delivery..so in total excluding vat and any other hidden charges the order will come to roughly £20/$31...the other option is ordering from the u.s. using Farnell but they want £16/$25 for delivery...but they are a bigger company and don't mention anything about VAT so maybe the import tax is included in the delivery costs

thanks for the suggestion jet, but I tend to avoid ordering from the states as stuff can take weeks to get here ..and with xmas just round the corner maybe even longer ..as it says in the small print

International mail delivery varies from country to country. If you don't receive your shipment within 3 weeks, contact us for further direction.
it has something to do with clearing customs ..unless you spend a small fortune on postage there is no way to cut the time down ...I'm not sure this monitor has weeks left in it...unless I upgrade to a more powerful hairdryer

also those kits dont tend to include the 450v cap ...on the up side I just snagged a great pic of the powerboard from that ebay ad & the parts list seems to check out though only farads are mentioned and in what quantity ..no esr, ripple etc

Maybe to avoid the minimum order that Farnell charges, have you considered ordering a cap repair kit through Ebay? The US seller below has sold many of these kits. Be sure to compare his parts list to yours.

did a forum search for "244t" but couldn't find any decent pictures of the power board ..found a couple on google images but they are not much better than the one I used ..if someone has a link or can upload a decent pic of the power board for a 244T...I will label it for future ref
    --------------------

here is my shopping list so far ..based on this Capxon datasheet and ordering from Farnell ...if someone could cast an eye and also offer suggestions where I'v run aground ...would be much obliged

    1) #### for the 47uF@50v couldn't find a lower esr than the CApXon & for the 47uF 63v could not find a higher ripple & lower esr

    2) Could not find datasheets for the last 2 on the list so went with a guesstimate ...the 450v is vertical to the board and where the pins meet the board there are 2 silver square feet ..but I'm thinking these are just normal through hole and not snap in?

    3) For the first one I'v included the values for FR,FM,FC for comparison ..I decided to go with the FR where possible as the values seemed slightly better

wait tho ...that means our part lists are the same ..the only question is which way round the 2 caps go ...I could go ahead and order ...and then just check the caps when I remove them to put in the new ones

can someone confirm the above isn't nonsense ..I'v been staring at this all day and a little tired ..but want to get on and get them ordered

yep, Farnell have a £24 min order but free delivery ...RS don't seem to like dealing with the public ...their site requires a trade account to make an order..they have a shop in town but it's a trade counter so not sure if I can buy from them easily ..I could probably add a few more things to my Farnell order to make it up to £24 ...Rapid are ok but they want £7 delivery...I could spend that £7 at Farnell instead ..I will price out the suppliers when I know exactly the parts I need...

...and on that note I'v just noticed crazyjonny has different cap values from me

https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...89&postcount=8 ...thread here ....I think one of us has got 2 values swapped by mistake

You also have RS Components there I think.
    .
Ordinarily you need to replace all the lytic caps on the power board except the large high voltage one.
    .
The real problem is the quality of the caps and if some are gone already the rest probably aren't far behind.

When I give examples, I try to select caps that are widely available around the world. So if you choose Panasonic FM as my example, you would get (using "1000uf 35v fm" for search)

Im in the north of scotland ..& have found somewhere to deliver ...but the range of caps is a bit confusing and haven't been able to find exact values

the 3 swollen caps for eg are 3x 1000uf@35v

and from looking at what I think is the datasheet

    they are:
    size: 13x25
    ripple: 2780
    impedance: 0.019

have narrowed down some decent brands here ..but not matching the impedance and ripple

you can do your own search by value here

should i get caps with a voltage higher than 35v ..or just go with 35v?

There are several threads on the forum about what good capacitors to buy, the following is one of them:
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=2280

retiredcaps explains one way of finding suitable replacements:
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...4&postcount=19

If you make a list of the capacitors on the board with the uF, V, diameter, height, and the part you think will work, someone on the forum can verify your results.

Hi. I have the following problem with my TV. After connecting to mains, the standby led (red) turns on, but TV is not responding to remote control or buttons on TV. After some measurements, I found out that +5 V standby voltage is present, but I dont have ON/OFF signal coming in to turn PSU on. It stays at zero volts. After looking at the schematic of the mainboard, I should get ON/OFF signal coming in at the R1402 resistor, but it stays around +3,5 V. So I removed it and I was able to turn on TV with buttons on TV, but not with remote control.

What could be the problem ? Thanks...

Connecting the main board up makes the TV work normally until moved. LED INERFACE STRIP BN41-01971A has a short on the first 2 pins on the left of the picture, the cable tests good.
