Dewalt DC012 Shop Radio no Sound

    HI guys

I am a total rookie when it comes to sound equipment, but have some limited electronics knowledge. I have a Dewalt DC012 Shop radio. The radio switch on, change channels, even search for radio channels, but it's got no sound. Nothing from the speakers. Both the speakers measures 5.8ohms.

DO you have any idea what I can look for

        Hi guys

Im sorry for the long time delay. Please find herewith pictures of the Power supply board and I think Sound board. The only voltages I could measure was on CN508.

If ground is ground in Connector, then the 13V measured as 16.5V and the AC Det. as 9.86V.

        Thank you

              Hi guys,

Thank you for your help. I could fix my Shop Radio. I found one 470mF cap close tot the AMP chip, replaced it and now my Radio is working again.

              Thanks again

I would recommend that you replace all the capacitors

Especially if they are non brand capacitors

What chip is the amp? I have a similar problem, except the volume is very low at full volume.

Verify that you do have Voltages feeding that black connector CN508, also show us the pin names for the CN508.

Re: Dewalt DC012 Shop Radio no Sound

Hi, I have the same DC012, no sound. Measured the output voltage of the power pcb assy (which feeds the radio pcb), supposed to be 13V, reads 16V (circled in orange).

Could this 3V prevent the radio board to function properly?

The visual check does not show anything damaged or burnt on all pcbs, except for the resistor (circle in red) where the pcb changed color. The color bars indicates a 15 ohms resistor which reads good. The two blue relays on the left get pretty hot too.

                          Thank's

                              clock radio / radio lifespan?
                              by shelby5041
                              hi
ive got a modern digital clock radio approx 15yrs old

my question is how long can a clock radio or a simple radio last ss farcas operating hours?

since elec components have limited hour lifecspan i would imagine the radio or clock radio would eventually fail.

the reason i ask is because i have my clock radio on radio function 24/7 for the past 7 years and its still working fine....i leave the radio on ..never turn off past 7years...thats approx 60000 hours

it uses very little power just a few watts i would imagine that may have something...

                              Good day ladies and gentleman!

I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.

This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).

I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but...
