pioneer vsx 2021 no sound

Hi,

i got a pioneer vsx 2021 , it is secondhand item, everything is working except sound, ther is no sound in all channel. but i can get sound in if it put in pure direct mode. only front left and right channel. is it bad cap problem?

Likely a problem on the hdmi board.

HDMI boards are pretty complex. Check regulators and ic's for voltage.

Yes you are right i check every signals. i found that Main clock signal is missing for DAC ic chip and DSPchip. clock signal lost due to one regulator ic Bad its show only 1.3 volt as per schematic it should be 3.3Volt then i by passed 3.3volt from another regulator ic now i am getting sound

I dont have scope. only have digital multi meter but in that i can measure i2s audio signal and 44.1khs sampling frequency. i measured these signals on DAC ic chip. then i by passed main clock out from DIR ic chip to DAC ic chip then i got sound. so i check in schematic i found that there is buffer ic in between . this ic chip do not producing output clock signal due to regulator failure.

Do you remember which elements you replace?
I can not find service manual vsx2021. You use service manual similar type pioneer?

No sound in all channel and tuner searching station but can not find AM FM stations . I bought a damaged secondhand.
When I will be service manual I will try to fix it.

Thank you for links service manual.
I ve checked voltage supply and regulators are ok.
Main receiver shows version is displayed 1-204087***008
If I update firmware, only 20% stops and show error.
*** - ? chip DSP
I have to replace chip D810K013BZKB400 ?

Hello, I own a second-hand VSX LX-55 which is similar to the VSX-2021 that you fixed. The issue is probably the same, I have no sound at all even in direct mode via the CD inputs. I have tried to locate the service manual but could not despite my many attempts. Would someone be kind enough to share a download link for this manual so that I can start tracking down signals on the HDMI board? Thanks a lot. Chris.

Very kind of you to provide this link, thank you. I downloaded the two manuals but unfortunately they are incomplete and very short (8 pages only each): no schematic diagrams of the boards found in the LX-55. Would you have another suggestion where to look? I have tried many different places unsuccessfully

Nope, no luck either, they don't have it, I am familiar with this good site. I've checked some Russian sites as well and I did not find it.
