    Ceramic 3 Legged Resitor Source

Hi guys, dont post much here, but have found some very useful info in the past, and I thank you for that. Here lately, I have trying to find a source for this ceramic 3 legged resistor pictures below without much success. Its a 0.39ohm resistor that goes in the output circuit of a Realistic STA-2270 reciever. Found places that say they have th 0.33, or 0.47 versions, but not the 0.39. Any idea where to find this thing? The reciever is a 1985 model if that helps. Thanks for any advice. TB

    Hi,

You may have already seen this thread but if not I hope it helps.

Thanks midibob, I did see that thread, and I have constructed a similar device. I have two 5W .39ohm ceramic two legged resistors that I have connected together. I just dont know if these 2 legged ceramics are suitable replacements. Or, if Im making my own out of two resistors, are the ceramics suitable or should I be using another type when connecting two together? The readings are good, and I dont see why this wont work, but thats what I dont know for sure. Thanks, TB

Re: Ceramic 3 Legged Resitor Source

Using two resistors with common legs in the middle is fine just have to be the same Watts rating since this for the Emitters of the output transistors, I use Flame proof resistors also if I run out of the ceramic body (which is also flame proof) for my old stereos from the 70's.
I get most of these dual emitter resistors for repair from MCMELECTRONICS.
