Try desoldering the OPAMP chip and see if there is no hum.

If just one speaker is making noise, then the problem can be the power amp IC or the dual op-amp, but look real close at the solder joints first.

Yes, there is two of them, sharing the same heatsink. 8pin IC indeed is 4558.

I think the noise comes only from the main speaker but I have to check it out as soon as the afternoon nap passes Small apartment, can't wake everyone up

That is the power amplifier IC TDA2030, there should be two of them for 2 channels.
The 8-pin IC is more likely to be dual-op amp (generic 4558 IC) for the preamplifiers to drive the power amps which drive the speakers.
The noise is from both speakers?

first two pictures are topside of the board. 1st is above the heatsink, and the second one is below.
But I'll make one whole, just to get my camera. Iphone camera will not do. Flash messes everything up

What are mounted on that heat sink? Transistors? need pictures of the whole board, top side.

    Genius SP-HF1250X - 2.0 speakers

Hi all. First post in this section

    My home speakers died recently.
First of all here are the specs from the official website

    What's going on?
Well, one morning i turned on the speakers and there was a incredibly loud buzzing sound. Constant, deep and vibrating. Almost exactly the same as when you touch metal part of the computer case with the audio jack, but way louder.
I tried everything... Unplugging speakers from computer, changing cable, unplugging left speaker from the right (problem is in the right and main one), problem stays. As soon as it gets the power it starts with the noise and that's it.

So... I unscrewed it, and took some photos of the board for starters

Philips F9217L-50R speakers – build quality impressions and DIY surround repair
    by momaka
More Lo-Fi speakers and another DIY surround repair. The patient this time: a pair of Philips F9217L-50R speakers from a budget Philips rack/component system from the '80's. The system belongs to my brother in-law… or actually his parents. However, they didn't want it when they moved houses and he liked it anyways, so he ended up keeping it. It's a pretty cool-looking vintage system with a wood/veneer cabinet and shelves for records and cassettes. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it or get the model #'s (but maybe next time I visit, if anyone is curious?)

Connect pc speakers to tv without 3.5 jack
    by nomoresonys
Currently trying to connect pc speakers to 2015 vizio tv, tv has no 3.5 headphone jack. Does have rca audio out, tried connecting thru a Y rca to 3.5 cable but getting odd results(probably just need a dac for decent audio, not sure?) not too educated on audio. With that hookup I'm getting 2 problems, can't get the speakers to increase in volume so it's very low even when turned up and when using both tv and pc speakers the pc speakers only put out the music part of the broadcast and not the vocals/talk of the program. Have you run into this before or know what it might be, Thanks.

Logitech R20 speakers - Replacing one of the speakers.
    by Widget
    Hi guys,

I have a set of Logitech R20 speakers, one of the speakers wasn't working, so I took it apart & there was no continuity or Resistance when probing the Tinsel Wires. Plus looks like the speaker was exposed to liquid as there's rust on the metal speaker frame.

Just in case, I removed the other speaker and installed it in place of the damaged speaker to make sure the PCB of the damaged speaker was ok & it seemed to work fine, so it looks like it's just the speaker for now.

    Printed on the back of the Logitech speaker is;

    LOGITECH...

Behringer MS16 Speakers - Low Volume on One Speaker
    by RetroComputingGrotto
I've had a set of speakers come in with the fault of not powering on.

I could hear something wrattling around in the speakers so we played a game called Guess What's In The Speakers! and this is what we found:

1 random loose nut and part of a BIC Biro pen.

After removing these foreign objects I plugged in the speaker and powered it on and found the volume to be quite low. On plugging in the other speaker it was very loud, but only out of the other speaker, this side was still very low.

    Acoustic Audio GX-400 speakers

Part 1 - Acoustic Audio GX-400 build "quality"

Not going to lie – this will be another silly audio post/thread. If you thought the cheap Panasonic Thrusters speakers I posted about last time were bad enough, then you are about to explore some new depths in lo-fi audio here. Ladies and gentlemen, I present you the Acoustic Audio GX-400 speakers... or speaker (only pictured one for better details )

Before I continue any further, perhaps you might be asking why I even bother to post about such crap audio gear (let alone keep it). The answer...
