Re: Asus VW221 (model VW221d)
With my multimeter (Mastech MS8200G) set to 2k the inverter transformer readings are:
T802 - .813
T801 - .838
As for the mosfet readings, my multimeter is set to continuity test, or 2 ohms. That is the only setting that gives any reading.

Here's trafos.
Now, if I'm not mistaken, I see four mosfets here. One on the top side, a three on the bottom side. Which ones are you interested in?...

Asus VW221 (model VW221d)
Hi guys
So I have this Asus VW221. Its problem is, the backlight's not working at all. No seconds to black. It's all black right away. There's a picture on the screen, all OK as it should be, just no backlight.
I opened it up, and there are no bulged caps, visually, nothing out of the ordinary. Little did I find about this screen and this problem, but some are talking about trafo(s).
Here are the photos, and I hope someone will be able to help...

Corsair CMPSU-400CX blowing it's fuse
Hi all!
I have this PSU on my desk. I used it as a reference PSU, for testing when doing servicing and all. One day there was a distinguishable soft bang inside, and although i suspected the fuse, proof came when i opened the unit.
fuse was indeed blown. Inside was glass 7A 250v fuse. As i have about a dozen laying around I trien with another one. Plugged in the PSU, took my faithful Antec PSU tester, andthere it was again. Fuse blown.
I tested all the diodes, no caps are bulged (Su

Re: Genius SP-HF1250X - 2.0 speakers
Hi ben7.
OK, i plugged it in again, and watched the speaker cone. It doesn't suck in, nor does it push out. It starts vibrating immideately, first small vibrations, for a second, and then with, i guess, full power.
Measured what you told me. Upper black contact measures 0.48, and lower is at zero. Multimeteris set to 20V
edit: that was with the speakers turned off. When I turned them on, voltage on the upper is about 9.27 (it's variable, but around that value), and on the lower is constant -0.7. Multimeter...Last edited by bocca; 07-05-2012, 06:02 AM.
