hard drive logic board Diode identification

I need to replace this small diode that is found on the logic board of a hard drive. What type of diode is this so I know I buy the correct one.

    Re: Diode identification

What type of drive? there are different types.
Where is the diode in the circuit? is it across the supply voltage? if it is it is likely a zener or TVS diode

        Hi,
If its a protection diode, remove it and recover data.Dont use furter without diode !

The hdd should turn on without that TVS / zener diode installed, but you loose over voltage protection. The new PSUs where you can disconnect unused cables aren’t standardized. So a Thermaltake cable.will fit in an EVGA PSU, but it reverses the voltages on the sata end. And then exact this will happen when you turn the computer on the first time. Guess how I found out.
I’ve replaced the diode and kept the HDD running. Got over 8000 hrs on it, no problem.

I was recently looking at my Antec NeoHE "modular" and a random SATA power cable that seemingly uses the same connector. As skeptical as I usually am I tried tracing the wires on the cable, and lo and behold: the wires don't go in the same order. Might have saved a zener diode's life here...

I wonder how many versions of the cable here, surely hope it's not all 180-odd combinations...

I ended getting a 12v to 5v dc-dc converter. It didn't work, output was shorted. Turns out there was a zener crowbar that was fried and melted the plastic case.
Oddly enough it isn't obviously clear which connector is input and output for the dc-dc converter, so guess what happened...

Repairing a Seagate hard drive with damaged logic board
                  by karto95
                  Hello everyone,

I'm currently facing an issue with my Seagate hard drive that has a damaged logic board. I've obtained a replacement logic board from a donor hard drive, but unfortunately, I'm unable to recover the BIOS of the original board due to damaged firmware. I'm wondering if it's possible to make the hard drive work with this donor logic board.

I have a CH341A programmer, so I'm hoping that it can be useful in this situation. I've attached the BIOS file .bin of the donor board for reference.

If anyone has any suggestions or experience with this...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                  Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
                  by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

                  by Greenacre
Afternoon, I hope someone is able to help me identify this components value. It is faulty. The markings show 633 and LG.

This is form a Netgear NAS RN21400 logic board.

Thank you all in advance. I have attached the image showing the component in place on the board. I have removed the Power port.

I apologise if I have posted in the wrong place. I couldn't find a forum for part identification or NAS stations....
