what on earth can this connect to?

While scanning my local thrift store I spotted for fifty cents a magnetic card reader.
The oddity is that this is not usb or serial. Instead it uses a telephone connection to connect to...I don't know what. After hauling the lil' thing hole I discovered it was made by mag-tek and looks to be a two-stripe reader. The design of it's case makes it look like a mini-wedge model and where the line leaves the PCB, it has several connections: 1-6, A, C, and +5V. Since I can't find details on the unit anywhere, I am assuming it is possibly needing an adapter in order to connect to a computer. Those nine slder points however make me think that it is capable of handling serial **POSSIBLY**. Since I want to see what it can do, what should I do in order to make it connect to a computer if even possible?

seems magtek use RJ11 (telephone connector) to RS232 cables

I better improve my google skills
        It's a magtek #2104 TTL Magstripe reader.

        the connector:
        white-card present (cp)
        brown-data line (data)
        green-Clock line (CLK)
        red-5volt power (5V)
        black-ground (GND)

isn't TTL incompatible with rs232? Bummer.

Just make a simple converter circuit with max232 or equiv. chip. The circuit is quite simple, just few caps and the chip. Example circuit schematic is in the max232 ic datasheet. (PDF file, see page 17.)
