Re: Information about Fluke 289...
The AA rechargeable is only putting out 1.2V, so I am not sure if it will run properly at 4.8V instead of 6V, you need to look at the manual to see if it will give the info. of the cutoff Voltage for this meter. You can also try and see.Attached FilesLast edited by budm; 06-08-2015, 03:04 PM.Never stop learning

Re: Information about Fluke 289...
Nimh work fine in the Fluke 289 despite using 6 AA cells. See
http://www.eevblog.com/forum/beginne...-fluke-287289/
There is a ton of information on the Fluke 287/289 on eevblog including leaky super capacitors.
I use Eneloops in my Fluke 187 (4 AA). It has no problems with the lower voltage.Last edited by retiredcaps; 06-08-2015, 03:24 PM.--- begin sig file ---
If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.
We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.
Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.
