Re: Soldering BGA by hand...
I've dead-bugged a 10 pin DFN before. 0.5mm pad pitch. Maybe about 0.2mm or so between contacts....
Yeah I did that by hand. Took a while, but I was successful!
I had to use the wire strands from some stranded wire... was the only wire I had that was thin enough!Muh-soggy-kneeComment

by bpjlHello,
When starting the SEF 551.10 reflow oven, the following problem occurs:
It seems to me that this is related to corrupted software. Does anyone have files that can fix this device? Or maybe someone uses such an oven and is able to make a sector copy of the memory card located in the computer controlling this oven?
PS.: Of course, appropriate emails for help have been sent to the manufacturer and distributor in my country. No response yet, but I don't expect much. It's a fairly old device and from what I know, it's no longer... -
by bpjlHi,

by tmhobadcapI heard somebody suggested a way of repair faulty led light bulb which I have never heard of. The way is to put the led light bulb inside a microwave oven and turn on the microwave oven for a few seconds. He said that faulty led light bulb is usually caused by poor solder joint between the led and the pcb. Putting the bulb inside the microwave oven for a few seconds will heat and reflow the solder joint making it works again.
Is that possible? I do not want to try this unless I have a spare microwave oven.
(I do not mean to suggest somebody to try this. It may be... -
by Olvin1Hello everyone,
I’m kindly asking for help and advice regarding a reflow procedure for my laptop — Acer Nitro 5 AN517-52, which is equipped with an Intel Core i7-10750H processor.
I own an ACHI IR 6500 infrared rework station and would greatly appreciate:
• A detailed temperature profile for reflowing this specific CPU
• Step-by-step guidance for a safe and effective reflow process
• Tips on what to watch out for during the procedure
If the reflow doesn’t resolve the issue, I’m also considering BGA reballing of...08-01-2025, 01:59 PM -
by tony359Hello all,
I am experimenting a bit with reflowing larger components - ideally I'd like to reflow a PS4 APU or a GPU for example.
I know it's impossible to reflow such large components with just hot air so I bought a pre-heating plate, T-8280 classic Chinese machine, which seems to be working fine besides it's a little slow, which shouldn't be a big deal.
Now, my hot air station is a Aoyue 852A++ and I feel it's a bit weak when used with larger nozzle. I tried reflowing a laptop chipset using one of those large, rectangular, nozzles and I failed miserably,... - Loading...
