Hi all having a problem after fixing some led strips with new leds and putting the diffusers back on when reassembling the tv they can be seen through the screen. Is there anyway of getting around this?,i think its because of the tape i use to stick the led strips back on being so thick therefore bringing the leds closer to the screen?

Re: Bright leds LG tv
the first reflection plate ( the hard one) its wrong . if its Direct LED then the smooth surface should be on the top. id its edge LED then look on the plate at end of the side opposite to LED side it should be covered with white type. -
Re: Bright leds LG tv

have you placed double sided tape across entire sections of led strips, and how many sections?WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS?Comment

Re: Bright leds LG tv
When you attached the lenses back, you didn't properly center them over the LEDs. This is a hard lesson that I also had to learn. Now, I use 5 minute epoxy for glue, and viewing from directly above, center the lenses until I can see the LED clearly underneath. When you tear back down to the backlights, look at the bad versus the good LEDs to see what I meanComment

Re: Bright leds LG tv
That lens are more hard to fix on right position.
I found in my contry online shop who sell some pen with gel adhesive with UV cure.
Put some gel on support pins, center lens, attach first plastic layer and see if is OK.
If not try to re adjust lens. When result is OK light with provided UV led that lens for few (or more) seconds.Comment

Re: Bright leds LG tv
Some LG LED TVs use 6V LEDs. If you replace the originals wit the common 3V LEDs you will get the hot spots issue.Comment

Re: Bright leds LG tv
Thanks andrew i def used the right voltage leds to replace the faulty ones in my tv,i too have ordered the thermal tape suggested,i was wondering whether anybody else has tried using the vestel type of diffusers instead as i dont seem to have this problem with the vestel tvs when i fix them i dont get any bright spots..
The bright spots i have are on all the leds that i have glued the difusers back on and not just the ones i replaced. Thanks for your input though Andrew, all useful information.Comment

by lmcancuHi I am having an issue with the LED backlight of this TV. I can see the picture with a flash light, so I determined it was a backlight issue.
Initially, after opening it I found 2 shorted and 1 open LED on 2 strips (total of 4). I removed the LEDs and shorted the pads together to verify if the backlight would work.
Testing it, I found the backlight turned on and I measured 54V when TV was in standby (off), and 100v when TV was turned on. The 4 strips each contain 9 LEDs, so 36 in all minus 3.
Instead of putting it back together I decided to replace... -
by edugimenoHi There!
Having fixed 5-6 TV sets by replacing full LED strips, and having watched other people fix that by replacing just one LED in the strip, my question now is what should I consider before doing so.
At this time I have some old strips removed from TV's with all but one LED working. Are there different voltage/current LED on different strips? Are 99% of them just the same and interchangeable?
How do you find which specific model is needed for each strip? When I check if a LED is OK by attaching the multimeter leads to the individual led pads on the strips I... -
by THE GTCSo I use this TV daily as a second monitor for my PC or my Playstation - at one point a few months back I tried to fix the problem - but in the process, I figured out something that works so I haven't posted this for awhile. It is an annoying trick to have to do though, so I decided to post about it to see if anyone could spot what's wrong. It baffles me because it works on it's own half the time.
When I first got this TV, I was told it wouldn't turn on, and of course I did the flashlight test, and the image was there. Also, the red LED on the front indicated that it had power (it... -
by x_orange90_xI am writing this because I came looking for the same information but couldn't find anything. There are certain model tvs that will have 2 or more different backlight strip configurations and there is often no way to tell exactly what you have without disassembling the panel. Twice now I have run into this issue and ended up ordering the wrong sets BOTH times. The previous TV I reordered the correct ones and went on my way. The second one I had no patience for returns or reorders, let alone peeling the brand new strips back out and risk damaging them.
The number of LEDs per pair is...03-12-2024, 08:32 AM -
by YanlebI have a Vizio M70-D3 4K with a dark spots backlight issue. It is using the Y8387248A backlight driver board.
On this model each of the 64 transistor powers 2 LEDs. Using my TKDMR TD3H backlight tester I've determined that the backlight LED strips were the issue, and the backlight driver board was just fine. Some LED pairs required 5.9 volt at 155mA, some required 9.5 volt and some were completely open.
I've removed the LCD panel and once the LED strips were exposed I've tested them again by connecting my LED tester directly on the test pads. To my surprise all, I've... - Loading...
