    Re: Bright leds LG tv

These are the led bright spots they go all across the screen except the bottom sets of leds(the only ones i did not need to fix.Basically all the ones i used thick double sided tape on have the problem.

      Re: Bright leds LG tv

I have had this before & it was due to the lens not being centred.
I find that when you pop them off they still have the rubber adhesive on both sides which if not cleaned up make them sit not level. It makes it easier if you clean up the 3 lens pads (level) & also on the strip so they are (flush).
I use some fine sandpaper to level the lens pads & a Stanley knife to remove the rubber from the strip before adding heat as some of the rubber when heated expands & will make the lens sit higher.

Also check the warmth of the LED's used against the others, hard to tell from your pics but some look cool white & some warm.
Did you use new LED diodes or from old strips?

There maybe something in the height of the strips also when you used the double sided tape but you won't know until you fix that.

Better to bench test your work with the minimum amount of screws/bezels etc before you completely reassemble & check your progress otherwise pulling these things apart again & again will drive you mad.

        Re: Bright leds LG tv

Just finished repairing leds on a 47" LG tv, and had to reopen it 4 times to get it right. There are a few things I did wrong:

First the height, I also used thicker tape than original, so the fixed leds would show just like yours.
Second, centering the led...the led has to be perfectly centered to where the original one was.
Lastly, centering the lens over the led and at the right height. What Wilderone mentions in the previous post is so true.....to make sure you center the lens and at the right height you have to have it sit in the 3 little holders on the strip, which is perfectly centered, but you also have to have it flat on the strip so that it is not at an angle. I used blue light plastic cement....doesn't harden until you apply blue light to it so you have plenty of time to adjust the lens perfectly. Oh, by the way I only saw this on my last attempt and it helped me a lot...notice that on each side of the lens, printed on the strip are 2 signs like this ( ) .....use that to get the lens perfectly aligned and you will feel it snap into those 3 little recesses (lens holders) when you press it down. If you don't have blue light adhesive, you can get Bondic in most hardware stores...here in Canada they sell it at Canadian Tire Stores.

As Wilderone suggests, don't reassemble it before testing...you can bench test it just with the acrylic diffuser installed and see the result.

RCA RLDED 4331B: 43 inch LED TV: Backlight issue
            by lmcancu
Hi I am having an issue with the LED backlight of this TV. I can see the picture with a flash light, so I determined it was a backlight issue.

Initially, after opening it I found 2 shorted and 1 open LED on 2 strips (total of 4). I removed the LEDs and shorted the pads together to verify if the backlight would work.

Testing it, I found the backlight turned on and I measured 54V when TV was in standby (off), and 100v when TV was turned on. The 4 strips each contain 9 LEDs, so 36 in all minus 3.

Instead of putting it back together I decided to replace...

About replacing individual LEDS on BL strips
            by edugimeno
            Hi There!
Having fixed 5-6 TV sets by replacing full LED strips, and having watched other people fix that by replacing just one LED in the strip, my question now is what should I consider before doing so.

At this time I have some old strips removed from TV's with all but one LED working. Are there different voltage/current LED on different strips? Are 99% of them just the same and interchangeable?

How do you find which specific model is needed for each strip? When I check if a LED is OK by attaching the multimeter leads to the individual led pads on the strips I...

            Insignia NS-37D20SNA14 intermittent LEDs

So I use this TV daily as a second monitor for my PC or my Playstation - at one point a few months back I tried to fix the problem - but in the process, I figured out something that works so I haven't posted this for awhile. It is an annoying trick to have to do though, so I decided to post about it to see if anyone could spot what's wrong. It baffles me because it works on it's own half the time.

When I first got this TV, I was told it wouldn't turn on, and of course I did the flashlight test, and the image was there. Also, the red LED on the front indicated that it had power (it...

            Backlight Reflector Modification
            by x_orange90_x
I am writing this because I came looking for the same information but couldn't find anything. There are certain model tvs that will have 2 or more different backlight strip configurations and there is often no way to tell exactly what you have without disassembling the panel. Twice now I have run into this issue and ended up ordering the wrong sets BOTH times. The previous TV I reordered the correct ones and went on my way. The second one I had no patience for returns or reorders, let alone peeling the brand new strips back out and risk damaging them.

The number of LEDs per pair is...

Vizio M70-D3 4K with dark spots backlight issue
            by Yanleb
I have a Vizio M70-D3 4K with a dark spots backlight issue. It is using the Y8387248A backlight driver board.

On this model each of the 64 transistor powers 2 LEDs. Using my TKDMR TD3H backlight tester I've determined that the backlight LED strips were the issue, and the backlight driver board was just fine. Some LED pairs required 5.9 volt at 155mA, some required 9.5 volt and some were completely open.

I've removed the LCD panel and once the LED strips were exposed I've tested them again by connecting my LED tester directly on the test pads. To my surprise all, I've...
