    Solve this problem

One I encountered recently. It was my fault, but I fixed it. Here are the circumstances. I realized there are two actual solutions (probably more if I have better software tools). But this was fixed within an hour

    Initial circumstances

    Laptop Windows 10 64-bit UEFI

Was stepped on, lid and bezel are permanently damaged, and unable to find replacements. Display is heavily damaged. Display cable is damaged.

You manage to get it up by plugging it into an HDMI cable. Screen is of course blank since it will always init to the lcd screen, until windows boots

You realize you need to uninstall an adobe service that won't let you unload it.

You set it to minimum safe mode

You realize with the generic driver, it will never switch over to the monitor

I realized later I could go through the msconfig gui in my head. But I used another way. I'm curious what you come up with

(does not involve getting the lcd screen to work)

    Re: Solve this problem

Well, what was the goal? Data recovery? That would determine the approach I'd take.

Take off the HDD from the laptop and copy the info. What's the problem exactly?
Useful conversions. I don't "speak" imperial. Please use metric, if you want to address me.
      1km=1000m=100000cm, 1inch=2.54cm, 1mile=1609.344meters, 1ft=30.48cm 1gal(US)=3.785liters, 1lb=453grams, 1oz=28.34grams

goal is getting it to boot in the original OS because she needs to use it temporary hooked to the 24" monitor

          serves you right,
always set your bios to mirror the screen to the external as soon as you get a machine.

if you remove or unplug the panel, the bios wont see the eeprom that has the vid/pid id in it and may default to the external.

btw, the same principle applies to android phones,
always enable dev-mode and then enable ADB and OEM-unlock soon as you get one.

because you wont be able to go in over usb if you dont - and you wont be changing the settings after you break or drown the screen!!

This bios didn't have that option

it did work before I set it to safe mode

as I said above I did fix it, just curious if you've figured it out

interesting. Something I didn't consider. Not too familiar with PS. Wouldn't that require administrator level to edit the bcd?

                  Ok my solution:

boot to a windows 10 USB drive. I have no screen

                  Plug in earphones

Hit ctrl+win+enter. This enables the screen reader (Working in a public shop with some sight disabled people I learned how to use screenreaders to a point, though I never used the win10 integrated one)

navigate through the menus. Get to the advanced screen, and windows cmd. Run the command to remove "safeboot" from the bcd

i hear her voice say "the operation completed successfully"

                  reboot.

windows now boots in normal mode

Never knew this was a thing. I've seen bios unlock and switch different onboard display options on desktop. I will check every laptop touch from here on out.

This has always been my last resort if the function key and screen switch buttons don't work.

That reminds me of using google voice commands over bluetooth to bypass a password lock preventing me from hard-resetting a galaxy tablet I got for cheap at a pawn shop. Only I cheated and read about the trick online.

looks like a program to send commands to an android phone and unlock it when the screen is dead

The laptop was turned off because the MOSFET was not transmitting voltage. After checking it turned out that the gate pin on the MOSFET was the problem, because it was producing an inappropriate voltage. and it was discovered that the problem was with the Think engine, so I decided to reprint each pin, and finally the mosfet could work properly. However, there is another problem, even though the voltage has been supplied to the laptop, it still won't turn on, there isn't even an LED indicator. After double...

                                Good morning,
I have a problem with Lenovo T580, which after error code 0288 suggests a problem with the display. I checked the display and it works on another laptop. I replaced the display cable with a new one. I programmed another BIOS (downloaded from this forum) and I still have the problem of a dead display - there is an image via HDMI, and the system does not detect the built-in LCD at all. The problem appears to be hardware. What can I check to confirm or disprove this? I found many threads on the Internet related to this problem 0288, but without specific solutions. Please advise....

Hello, I have a Dell 15R-5521, with the problem that the Ctrl, Alt, Shitf and Num Lock keys do not work, I tested the keyboard with a keyboard tester and it is functional, I also got another new keyboard and the computer has the same problem with the same keys. Check continuity between the ZIF connector from the keyboard to the KBC and all pins are correct. I cleaned the ZIF connector and the KBC and I still have the same problem. I reinstalled windows just in case, and it didn't work. I updated the BIOS to the latest version A16 and there were no changes.

                                As additional information,...

                                Hey there,
So I got a problem with my LG OLED TV (OLED55B8PLA).

the problem is that the tv won‘t power on some times, the led stays red and won‘t even blink, just solid red when I try to turn it on. USB devices connected won‘t light up. 1/4 of the screen (left side) shows some green „clouds“ that are getting brighter everytime I turn the tv on and after some tries the tv finally turns on. Sometimes it takes 10 tries and some times 100 or even more tries.

When the tv is on, everything works fine, hdmi outputs, usb inputs, wifi, bluetooth, etc is working...
