Never knew this was a thing. I've seen bios unlock and switch different onboard display options on desktop. I will check every laptop touch from here on out.
This has always been my last resort if the function key and screen switch buttons don't work.
I do the dev mode but have never heard of ADB and OEM-unlock. Now i have more learning to do. thanks...

Alienware 17 R4 Bios/system password
I replaced a keyboard for a friend's Alienware 17 R4 and now when i boot it up it's asking for a system password. I get three tries and it shuts down. Doesn't say anything about being disabled. We called dell and it's $200 for the password. I scoured the web and even tried some websites like bios-pw.org but no luck. They said to enter the HD's serial..but that didn't work. Anyhow, I saw a thread here where user evserv helped someone out of a simiilar situation. Hoping they or someone else can help me. My service tag is 4M43H2. EXPRESS SERVICE CODE: 10044274070.
