You will need an Windows XP cd in order to run the Recovery Console that has the checkdisk command. Your files are screwed up from the power loss. Borrow one from a friend if you can.

You're required to reformat the drive and reinstall XP. NTFS is trashed!

I would give the repair tools a chance first. Chkdsk then Fixboot and if needed Fixmbr, then its time to format and install XP.

that's one shitty FS if that's all it takes to trash it.

sounds like windows needs an Ext4 driver.

Probably because it was in middle of writing files.

I would think that you want to blame Isreal for the power outage and Syrian refugees for the file corruption.

                IsraHell probably made the cpu!

if your in the middle of a file write and lose power you should only lose the file.

i think one already exists. its called ext2fsd tho its a project run out of sourceforge. the recent versions also support all the ext4 features/functions. really ingenious way the linux guys setup the linux extended filesystem with regards to both backward and forward compatibility.

that's been around a while, but you cant use it on the boot-drive!

windows users should stick to FAT32, atleast you can recover it.

                              Good Afternoon fellas,

                              Issue:
Disc is showing as not supported when a disc is put in.

Here's what I've done, you can skip this if you just wanna know the question:
                              - replaced with a disc drive from a donor ps5 (honestly questionable if this is known to work)
                              - reflowed the disc drive connector
-reflowed the chip in question (shown on image)
                              - I will say this console was very dusty so it's conceivable that it got so hot that it made the chip joints cold and potentially other things on the board

                              Question:
                              I...

                              by x_orange90_x
I don't know if anyone here has experience with Japanese slot (pachislo) machines, but I sure hope so. I bought this machine last week in semi-working order. It would play and the reels would spin, but the stop buttons would not stop them at all. I found that the high-frequency filtering tantalum capacitor was bad on the reel stop board, along with the fuse being blown. I replaced the fuse and removed the capacitor. I haven't replaced the cap yet because I didn't have one on hand, but it's not necessary for the operation of the machine.

The issue now is the Stop buttons are intermittently...

                              Hi Folks,

Just wanted to clear up a misunderstanding of mine (or what I expect is one). Isn't the 12V rail from the 24 pin, EPS and PCIE separated? IE if I put a power resistor on the ATX 12V pin that is not going to load, thus tell me if the EPS or PCIE rails are fine?

I was recently watching ArIs from Hardware Busters video on how to properly test ATX PSUs without using 5 figure Croma substations.

The PCB adapter he used breaks out the 12, 5 and 3.3V pins from the 24 pin and gives you banana plugs to connect to. That is a bit useless is it not? Aren't...
