Internal images saved here have disappeared

Is there a time limit to when / how images uploaded to the internal server are governed?

My uploads from around December last year are gone? Is badcaps forum going under?

Looking at other new threads here they are gone too.

Yeah... noticed that too on older threads the pics disappeared.

It affects some users, currently there's an issue with the attachments, even attachments from yesterday don't work while the attachments from some users which didn't work yesterday work now, the admin said he's working on it

this has happened before,
it's caused by upgrades changing the path to the images probably.

We had a server attack that meant recovery from backup. Unfortunately, it meant also having to very quickly update the forum software from 5.7.5 to 6.1.2 which has been a nightmare. Getting sorted files are still being restored. There may still be issues with some uploads once complete but will see when it finishes

I was wondering about a possible server attack, as it had slowed down a lot
