I would consider replacing the 1000uf around the RAM area of the Soltek board. I've a thread a few spots down with many nforce 2 boards needing those changed out. -

They look really good, and vs the boards I did, are way more valuable. I like the BX board polymod.
When I first started there was a lot of stitch work not too great but after completing a few more I went back and fixed them up. Even after 250+, I still run into a few unfriendly joints at times.Leave a comment:

This sort of explains an issue I'm having with a P4S5A I recently recapped. The thing won't fire up using my trusty bench HX650W without a power cycle or 2. It turns the fans for a second then won't flinch. Didn't think about the 5v rail thing. It must be right on the edge at 20A being a 20-pin motherboard. But once it boots up it doesn't stop.Leave a comment:

These motherboards are all part of my initiation to recapping. I've had the privilege of learning to remove them with a desoldering gun, a Hakko FR-301. It was a sizeable investment but easily the best tool ever.
All boards have been fairly well stress tested for many hours in the Serious Sam 1 TFE OG demo loop, and 3dmarked, and all are stable and function well.
Also every one of these boards bar the NF7 were tested prior with no life at all. No post & no beeps. Each one was a hail mary so to revive them all was a nice surprise.

Not sure why they covered this board in Rubys only to let KZG in around the AGP port. Other NF7 boards here that are non -S inc S2G do not have any KZG & use only Rubys.Leave a comment:
