Just a quick update....

The password you provided worked!
Much appreciated
Do you have to decode or decrypt the password from the bin file, or run it through an algorithm?
I know, a long time ago, the IBM Thinkpad BIOSes used to store their admin passwords as MF1 scancode, but I am not familiar with more recent ones.
Anyway, thanks again.Just a quick update....

I will try the password first when I am back in front of the PC next Monday and update.
If not, I will remove the BIOS chip and reflash it with one of the above two BIN files.
Thank you all, once again, much appreciated, and a...

Can someone tell me what the password is from this BIN file?
Model number is Asus FX706H.
Serial number is NANRCXARR012423.
Printed on the mainboard is DANJJMB1AA0 REV A.
The file was read with a CH341A black programmer using the NeoProgrammer 2.2.0.10 software and then zipped so it could be uploaded.
The chip did not detect correctly, but it seems to have been read and verifies OK after setting it as a W25Q128JV.
The correct model on the chip itself is 25R128JV.
Any help greatly appreciated, and a merry Christmas to all....

I removed the Mosfet PQW1 and tested booting using the CPU's GPU.
Unit powers on and boots using Intel GPU integrated in the CPU.
Tests fine, and customer is happy.
Thanks again.

Thanks piernov, I appreciate your advice.
I was hoping it was not the GPU, but was suspecting that it might be.
Thank you.

Acer AN515-55-528T FH52M LA-J891P - Short ciruit after PQW1 MOSFET on +1.35VSDGPU rail.
Hi all.
This notebook was showing no signs of life.
I removed the FH52M LA-J891P mainboard and found that there was 19V at the DC jack.
However there was zero volts on the two PRB2 and PRB46 resistors immediately after the two polarity protection MOSFETs (PQB11 & PQB12).
If I remove the PQW1 MOSFET, the 19V rail starts working, and I can turn on the unit - at least I get the fans, and the power light comes on, when I simulate the power button being pressed. No display.
I tried replacing the MOSFET with a new one, but again no voltage on the...

Re: Need schematic for Microsoft Surface 5 Pro ( 1796 Calgary )
Thank you Inflex!
I had to download Openboardview 9.95 to view it, as my version (8?) couldn't open it.
Much appreciated.
I do not have the schematic I'm afraid... I just have a handful of pages, which I suspect are the same as what you have.
All as PNG files, named ch1 - ch6, except ch4, and a couple of others....

Re: Can anyone identify this chip on a DAX31MB1AA0 (HP X360 13-AC041TU)
Hi again mcplslg123.
I removed the incorrect chip, and retested the 3.3v LDO output.
It is not connected to ground, nor are any other pins connected to ground.
This makes me think its a fault with the chip itself?

Re: Can anyone identify this chip on a DAX31MB1AA0 (HP X360 13-AC041TU)
Hi Skynetto, and thanks for your input.
That's good to hear.
For some reason I thought that pin was meant to be 3.3V.
I found the another regulator, labelled MU3V7, from another, different board, which I assumed is the same specs, but could find no info on it.
I swapped it out.
This one does not heat up at all, unlike the original, that immediately got so hot it hurt.
However, still no sign of life....

Re: Can anyone identify this chip on a DAX31MB1AA0 (HP X360 13-AC041TU)
Hi again mcplslg123
Thanks again for the advice.
I guess I'll have to look at the +3v rail then... but, unfortunately, I guess, yes, I did power this board without the chip in place.
I did not realise that powering on the board without this chip could cause any further damage?
That's not good...
When I did power it without this chip attached, pad 8 showed 12.57v, which seemed way higher than it should be.
Game over, do you think, or should...

Re: Can anyone identify this chip on a DAX31MB1AA0 (HP X360 13-AC041TU)
Thank you mcplslg123 for the information, and suggestion.
That helps a lot.
With the chip removed, I checked the resistance to the ground pin on pin 5, the 3.3v LDO output, and it is not connected to ground at all.
Even when measuring on the 20MOhm setting.
None of the corresponding pads on the motherboard show a short to ground, other than the ground pad of course.
Pad 5, where the 3.3v LDO would be connected, shows a 180 Ohm resistance to ground....Last edited by joshAU; 11-10-2022, 06:53 PM.

Can anyone identify this chip on a DAX31MB1AA0 (HP X360 13-AC041TU)
Hi all.
Motherboard is a DAX31MB1AA0 Rev A.
When this notebook is connected to the USBC charger, this chip quickly gets too hot to touch.
No other signs of life.
Its labelled MS6VD.
I cannot find any datasheets or other information online.
Any ideas as to what it is?
I do not have any schematics or boardviews for this model, however I have just requested them on the schematics forum here.
I have removed the chip and the chip doesn't appear to have any shorts/be connected, to any other pin on it.
With the chip...

DAX31MB1AA0 boardview and schematic?
Hi all.
Would anyone have the boardview and schematic for a HP X360 13-AC041TU?
the motherboard model is DAX31MB1AA0 Rev A.
Thank you in advance if you help.

Re: How to trick notebook into thinking internal panel is connected?
Hi mon2, and thanks for your reply, advice and suggestion.
Unfortunately the customer decided to not proceed with this, so I cannot say whether your suggestion worked or not.
I suspect it may, interesting cable.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I do already use a CH341A, so this cable may be worth adding to my adapters.
Once again, thank you.

How to trick notebook into thinking internal panel is connected?
Hi all.
I have an asus F505DV that has a smashed screen, broken hinges, bezel and top cover.
The customer cannot afford to repair it, so they wanted me to remove the top of the unit and will just use the base as a desktop and plug into a monitor via HDMI.
However, for some reason, with this model, it REFUSES to display on the external monitor unless there is also an internal LCD.
If there is a internal screen, then the external displays fine.
This is running the latest BIOS.
I have set the display properties in windows 10 using...
