Hi to all,
I've received a new bios IC, I bought a Winbond W25Q128JWSIQ (as seen in the datasheet of this board), wrote into it both the same binary extracted from the Gigadevice IC and a new freash untouched FSCN14WW (same version as the one installed originally), but the problem is not solved
The error "BIInitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000185" shows up everytime I try to boot some disk (nvme or usb), and the display stays empty (but keyboard work and I can reboot by crtl+alt+can) when I try to go into BIOS settings through F2 or the Novo button.
Since I've...

Hi SMDFlea,
thank you for your suggestion, I've already tried other SSDs, HDDS , even empty ones and that error shows up every time, even if I try to boot a USB installation disk with Win10 or Win11.
When there's no disk in any port, in place of that error the system shows "Checking media", then goes to the LAN request window for two times, and after it shows "No boot media found" window.
The suspecting thing is that I can't even enter the bios settings, when I try F2 or the Novo button, it goes to a black screen with the mouse...

Hi mcplslg123
thank you for your advice.
I've used the 1,8v adapter on the CH341A programmer, but sadly I don't have any SVOD or similar programmers to flash the internal eeprom inside the IT8227E-192EC, that's why I tried to start the Crisis procedure that I think can flash the same EC during the whole process automation.
I've searched for an "FD" reference inside the bios binary but I didn't find any...
If I upload the file, can someone take a look inside it in order to find the Crisis filename?mcplslg123

Lenovo Legion 5 15ARH05H, NM-D281 Rev 1.0, "BIInitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000185" and bios freezing
Dear members,
I have a problem with this machine that still I can't solve, I hope some of you can suggest me something.
I was the first one to open the machine and touch the mainboard, in fact the Lenovo seal was intact the first time that I unscrewed all the internal screws.
The ower told me that it was working very good until Windows kicked "something like a firmware update" (owner's words) then the system started acting weird.
When you try to start it, some seconds after having pressed the power button, Lenovo splashscreen appears, then after 1 second, in the...

Macbook Pro A1989 fallen, reboots if touchbar connected
Hi to all,
the owner of this macbook brought it to me after a fall, that hit the upper right corner of the top case.
Luckily enough, the screen and all other parts of the machine haven't been damaged, only the touch bar wasn't lighting up anymore, and the macbook began to behave strangely, because it seems to start and work fine but suddendly it shutsdown (and at the same time the fans make a high rotation for half a second, as if an animal was annoyed by something...) at random times, sometimes after 2 minutes, sometimes after 5 minutes, but never over 10 minutes, then restarts...

Re: Sony PS4 slim CUH-2216A power supply ADP-160FR not working after short in PFC
Hi theManieq, sorry for this late reply but thank you for your help and will to measure !
It's very useful to know that 12v from Q41 isn't present in standby, this changes my point of view about the "power sequence" of this power supply .
I have a chance to test the ps4 with a compatible power supply, i.e. the N17-160P1A , the console works correctly so it must be a problem within the ADP-160FR itself.
The two power supplies have different components...

Re: HP EliteOne 27" 1000 G2 - Shorted USB - MainBoard DAN11AMB8H0 REV:H
Hello,
no sugestion about anything?
I know that this machine is not so widespread, but maybe someone can reach some datasheet or boardview?
Do you know if the absence of the Thunderbolt controller JHL7340 and its firmware chip may block the power sequence?

Re: Sony PS4 slim CUH-2216A power supply ADP-160FR not working after short in PFC
Thank you @sjt and @theManieq .
I will check the 5VSB line, in the meantime I can tell you that voltage on big caps doesn't change when shorting ACIN_DET and ACIN_STBY (maybe because IC41 and IC32 aren't getting 15v), and it's stable at 320v.
I already took some measures around optoisolators (red probe to respective GND, black one on pin), before and after shorting ACIN_DET and ACIN_STBY :
IC53
1 1510 0.00 0.00
2 672 0.00 0.00
3 000 0.00
4 600 0.06 0.06...

Re: Sony PS4 slim CUH-2216A power supply ADP-160FR not working after short in PFC
I'm sorry @stj, I was too quick to read your words ...
I thought you suggested to test the 12v rail instead you meant the 5VSB.
I tested it as you told me and the lamp lights up correctly, and the 5VSB (and AC_STBY) doesn't fall down.
What can you suggest next?

Re: Sony PS4 slim CUH-2216A power supply ADP-160FR not working after short in PFC
Hi stj,
thank you for the suggestion, I have tried some minutes ago but I don't see any light from the lamp, at the same time measuring tension at the 12v output I don't see any voltage nor little spikes, it's completely unresponsive.
After having shorted 5VSB with AC_STBY, 5VSB and AC_DET fade down and you can restart them only by pulling the mains e reconnecting them again.
At this time, I can't figure out if the culprit is IC151 itself broken or it's because it works good and it...Last edited by modtool; 06-05-2023, 01:47 PM.

Re: Sony PS4 slim CUH-2216A power supply ADP-160FR not working after short in PFC
Thank you @lotas for the suggestion,
I did as you say but the behaviour is the same.
The 12v rail doesn't try to start, not even a little spike, and then the 5VSB fades out.
If I unplug the mains and reconnect them after at least 10 seconds, 5VSB comes on again.

Sony PS4 slim CUH-2216A power supply ADP-160FR not working after short in PFC
Dear forum members,
I'm working on this power supply for ps4 slim, that behaves in a similar manner as other cases but I can't find a way to solve the problem.
When it came to me, externally the ps4 had standby voltage, clicking the disc eject button made the triple beep (without disc inside) and cliking on the power button made the blue power light turn on and then all turned off within 1 second.
When I opened it up, I found these components shorted:
Q6 24N60M2
IC41 1612A (not really shorted but had a hole on it and all pins measured open circuit but the 9th...

HP EliteOne 27" 1000 G2 - Shorted USB - MainBoard DAN11AMB8H0 REV:H
Dear forum members,
I'm trying to repair this All-in-one machine that had a problem in the usb-c port, maybe the owner connected some shorted device and caused a disaster.
I found that were shorted :
Southbridge Intel Q370 SR404 (shorts on main core, 3v rails and data lines on usb ports)
U89 Intel JHL7340 Thunderbolt controller
U22 MX25L8006E Thunderbolt controller firmware IC (with a little bump on it)
When I unsoldered these 3 ICs , the main 3v line has returned to a normal value, around 400mV (measured with red probe on GND and black one on...

Re: Problems writing MX25L25673G
Hi DynaxSC, thank you for your answer and advices.
I didn't know that the CH341 was so cheap, I finally bought one and I managed to write properly the MX25L25635E (I have not yet concluded the repair of the HP EliteOne after the southbridge replacement and ME cleaning, maybe there's something else broken, but that's another question ).
As it was an old version, I did the voltage mod so that data lines are feeded correctly with 3v3 instead of 5v, but it was really easy.
Funny to note that two days ago I had to correct a bios of...

Re: Problems writing MX25L25673G
Can anyone share an advice for this problem?
I've bought an adapter for soldered SOIC16 to SOIC8-DIP, I've compared the wirings that I've used before and they were the same, but also with the new adapter I can read and cancel this eeprom but I can't write correctly to it, the verification stops always at the same hex point 0x344003.
I've tried with a CPH341A owned by one of my friend's and all goes well, I don't understand why the Willem recognizes the eeprom but fails at the verification step.
It seems it could be some wrong software...

Problems writing MX25L25673G
Hi to all, I'm facing a problem writing to an MX25L25673G SOIC-16 bios chip (part of an HP EliteOne 1000 G2 27") with a Willem programmer 5.0B (with software PCB98D12c4).
I know my programmer is old and I've planned to buy a new one but it worked until now with every eeprom I've faced in different devices, this is the first time that is giving me this kind of problem and I need to urgently solve it because I've already changed the fried southbridge and cleaned its ME fw, so I need to finish the last step of the repair.
This Willem supports some 256Mbit eeprom, I can choose between...
