I'm almost certain that it's a resistor however the code on it is invalid it's off a motherboard if it's any help there is another one with exactly the same code. Many thanks for looking.

Re: Help identifying component
It could be a nand gate but having a look on the internet doesn't show any nand gates like this. Maybe it could be a capacitor???Comment

Re: Help identifying component
It's has no voltage across it and the resistance was tiny around 0.2 ohms. I'm going to remove it tommorow so I'll let you know.Comment

Re: Help identifying component
measure millihenries across it with your meter .
another thought it might be a fuse .. check schematic or draw it out yourself if poss .Last edited by petehall347; 02-24-2017, 07:03 PM.Comment

Re: Help identifying component
Looks like a resettable fuse like one of these :

Thanks for all the help you have given me it defiantly is a resettable fuse.Comment

Re: Help identifying component
It also could be a current sense resistor, which typically are very low value.PeteS in CA

by GfilipeZHi,
I have this machine with me in the lab, which had liquid damage.
When visually inspecting the Logic Board, I detected residue under the U9200.
I removed the IC, and when checking the diode values of each pad, I verified that PP2V5_NAND_SSD0 was shorted. The resistance to ground was about 1.8ohm.
I injected tension in the rail and with the thermal camera, I saw that the Nand U9200 was heating up more in some areas. I removed the Nand and the short circuit disappeared.
My doubts are:
Can I replace just one Nand, or do... -
by kuba2102Hello people. I have undertaken an upgrade from 256GB to 512GB. I have another A2681 board that I sourced NANDs, resistors and capacitors from. Yet when I try to restore the firmware in FDU mode I get the error 0x23 (35) (error formatting the NAND). Could it be the faulty NAND or I have missed something? Thank you...07-03-2025, 12:20 PM

by duwaneHi All.
Sorry ahead of time for the text wall. This is a strange problem and I have tried to explain it as best I can. I realise this is a hardware forum (mostly), but I am still not sure if this is even a hardware fault! I am hoping that someone more knowledgeable than me in the area of understanding installation logs, or someone that has had a similar issue in the past may have some ideas of what might be causing this.
The issue:
