    Help identifying component

I'm almost certain that it's a resistor however the code on it is invalid it's off a motherboard if it's any help there is another one with exactly the same code. Many thanks for looking.

      Re: Help identifying component

It could be a nand gate but having a look on the internet doesn't show any nand gates like this. Maybe it could be a capacitor???

        Re: Help identifying component

Looks like its only connected at the ends, could it just be a inductor (coil) How does it check for resistance?
        Or maybe a diode?

EDIT: what is the (5 pin) device it is connected to, that might also help

I think you're right with resistor. Can you remove it with hot air and measure it's value.

It's has no voltage across it and the resistance was tiny around 0.2 ohms. I'm going to remove it tommorow so I'll let you know.

measure millihenries across it with your meter .
another thought it might be a fuse .. check schematic or draw it out yourself if poss .

Looks like a resettable fuse like one of these :

I do believe it is a resetable fuse by Bourns maybe 2 amp

You could very well be correct. It does appear to connect to a thick pad. It is kind of hard to tell because of the black circle.

Thanks for all the help you have given me it defiantly is a resettable fuse.

It also could be a current sense resistor, which typically are very low value.

PS5 EDM-031 - Pulsing BLOD - SSD NAND chips never heat up
                            by mattpd
PS5 died in the middle of a game and never would boot again. Pulsing BLOD stays on forever but never boots.

No LM damage. UART gives a generic "APU not responding" error.

Under thermal camera, the SSD NAND chips stay stone cold. The controller warms, but not the NAND. I have a good 2.5v and 1.8v around the NANDs...

I don't have a ton of PS5 experience, but I assume that the NAND would need to warm at least a little bit in order to boot...

So to those with experience, would you expect at least a little heat from the NAND during...

Macbook Pro 2019 A2141 NAND Shorted
                            by tech_guru
Hello. If you could please help me understand what I am doing wrong...

This model, Macbook Pro 2019 16" A2141, 512GB, EMC 3347, with T2 Security Chip, had 4 NAND Chips shorted in 1 wing (U9100, U9200, U9300, U9400) and it has 1 more in the 2nd wing (U8600) BUT NOT shorted. All chips are TSB4227 TOSHIBA-KIOXIA SN4192TWNA12014 BGA110 128GB. I got 4 new nand chips for 1 wing and programmed them by specific position of course with JCID P13 programmer.

I also replaced the tps power ic for the ssd.
Now all rails come up, including the ssd rails 0.9v, 1.8v, 2.5v....
