Are these 1000uF 10v Topmay capacitors from eBay ok?

I just bought some 1000uF 10v capacitors from eBay to fix my Samsung 2220WM, but it seems like they are already bulging? Are they ok to use? Thanks.

    Lol
    eBay never ceases to amaze!
Your only source for legitimate capacitors is one of the large serious component stores like:
Elfa, Farnell, CPC, Mouser, Digikey, TME (in no particular order)

And to answer the question: they belong in the trash can, even more so when they are bulging but really the same if they where not!
Maybe you can ask the seller for a refund, though if it was from eBay seller la.tronics with itemid: 182597722384 I guess you got what you paid for, as they are bulging in the store photo!
But 177 sold batches of 10 pieces and perfect review score, LOL!

LCSC can also be a good place to get new capacitors (just only buy Elna, Nichicon, Nippon Chemi-Con, Panasonic, Rubycon, or Suncon).

        Suncon? really?

as for the Topmay caps, you cant really complain because they do say "VENT" on them!

I have bought from eBay before without issue. But I guess I got unlucky this time. I'll definitely try to ask for a refund. Thanks.

If we went by that logic we couldn't buy caps from any brand, they all had some series fail through the years

In all my years, I've seen very few failed Sanyo caps. Sanyo/Suncon are good. Don't recall a lot of WC's, motherboards frequented WG series the most commonly....but still weren't troublesome.

                    Agreed.
Same goes for most non-Japanese brands anyways, especially the no-name garbage from eBay.

                    Item as pictured, sorry!

Still worth a try going for a refund, though. If you have one of those cheap ESR meters / transistor testers, you can show their capacity and ESR is bad, improving your chance of getting a refund without having to return the caps. If caps still show OK ESR and capacity for whatever reason (sometimes can happen if they have recently just bulged), reverse-polarize them "gently" and then put them on the meter... then ask for a refund.

You can get legitimate Japanese caps on eBay and for a pretty good price... but there are only a handful of sellers and their stock and offered variety changes with time. So all in all, eBay is not a great place for buying caps. Neither is Amazon, where you can't even see a picture of the actual item (most sellers use a stock image and barely provide any info.) And AliExp.... nah, forget it.

Sanyo WF series are the ones to avoid. While many of these lasted 10+ years in service, they do have a 100% failure rate after a while. Everything I have with WF caps from the early 2000's has had those bulge and fail, with or without regular use. Their electrolyte is just not long-term stable.

If you happened to buy a legit Japanese brand, probably that's why.
Otherwise, everything else "no-name" on there is junk.
Don't waste your time with junk caps. Whatever you repair will last a few years at most. Some of the no-name garbage brands don't even last much in storage coming out of the factory, as is the case with these Topmay caps.

Suncon doesn't sell the WF series anymore, so nothing to worry about when buying new capacitors. However, it's probably a good idea to change out any Sanyo WFs on older equipment.
