Re: Are these 1000uF 10v capacitors from eBay ok?
I have bought from eBay before without issue. But I guess I got unlucky this time. I'll definitely try to ask for a refund. Thanks....

Are these 1000uF 10v Topmay capacitors from eBay ok?
I just bought some 1000uF 10v capacitors from eBay to fix my Samsung 2220WM, but it seems like they are already bulging? Are they ok to use? Thanks....

Samsung SyncMaster 2220wm tiny dotted lines
I'm getting these tiny dotted lines on my Samsung SyncMaster 2220wm monitor. I tried plugging the same HDMI cable (using a HDMI to DVI converter) into my MAG Innovision monitor, that seems to be fine (no lines). Has anyone encountered similar issues before? Is it caused by a bad cap or do I need to change out the input circuit board?
Thanks....

Re: Image shivering after cap replacement
It's hard to show in the photos, because the words kinda shivers/shifts. But I found a work around for it, turns out this only happens when I use the VGA input (maybe there are some other bad caps or when the caps went it damaged something on the VGA side), when I use the DVI input it's fine. So I just switched the cable to DVI. Thanks for the reply.

Image shivering after cap replacement
I have a Mag Innovision 22" LCD monitor. It's a pretty old monitor and I already have some caps replaced about 3 years ago. The screen was turning itself off after a few seconds, so I took it apart and replaced the bulging caps. Now it will stay on, however, the image on the screen is shivering. Does this mean my monitor is dying? Or is there anything simple that I might have overlooked? Thanks.

Re: Samsung SyncMaster 2220BW bad caps?
The burnt PCB is mostly from trying to de-solder the old cap, the solder on there was very hard to melt.

Re: Samsung SyncMaster 2220BW bad caps?
Finally found a seller on ebay that sells this in a small quantity, I replaced the burnt out cap yesterday, it works fine now.
Huge pic.

Re: Samsung SyncMaster 2220BW bad caps?
I found a guy on eBay that sells this, but he sells it in 100 packs, while it's not expensive ($14 + shipping), I'm going to keep looking to see if I can find a cheaper seller. This is not my main monitor, so I'm not in a big hurry to fix it.

Re: Samsung SyncMaster 2220BW bad caps?
Imageshack has been around for years and they are not going anywhere. I also have a pic of the VGA & DVI output board, but no caps looks burnt or bulging there. From my own research it seems like the problem is on the main PCB, that's why I only posted that PCB. Also, the pictures I post are large because I want people to see the details, I've gotten voltmod help online by posting big pictures because people can see the traces on the PCB and was able to help. But anyways, I'm going to replace that burnt out cap, if that fixes it great,...

Re: Samsung SyncMaster 2220BW bad caps?
I took a closer look at the main PCB, I found a burnt out ceremic capacitor. I also found what looks like an identical capcitor on the other side of the PCB, the numbers on it is 12J 3KV JNC. I found out that this means it's a 12pF 3000v capacitor. I found a 56pF 3000v capacitor on eBay, but I think that's too big of a difference. I found that Digikeys has an equivalent part, but they seem like a wholesale company, does anyone know what their minimum order quantity is?
Here are some high res pics of the PCB and the burnt out...

Samsung SyncMaster 2220BW bad caps?
My monitor started doing this recently, when I turn it on it stays on for 1-2 seconds then it turns to black. But I vaguely see the shapes of the windows opened. From what I've read it's either a driver issue or bad caps, I've tried it on another computer and it has the same problem, so I'm pretty sure it's the bad caps. However, when I opened it up, I don't see any caps are bulging. I took some pictures of the PCB and the caps, can you guyes tell me if these caps are still good? Thanks.
