  • Lenovo Legion 5 Y540-15IRH IT8226E-192 shorted

Hi, I'm working on a Legion 5, NM-C221 Rev. 2.0 board. Charging port replacement butchered by other shop and EC took a hit. I ordered replacements from China (shums) soldered it on and nothing happens, no lights. It does get 3.3V bot no 5V, draws 50mA. I read on another thread (Lenovo y540-17IRH IT8226e-192 - Badcaps) that it should auto-program but I'm not sure how that process works, should I wait 30s, 1min... then lights will come on, do I need to flash a particular bios or is there something else wrong with the board? Any assistance is much appreciated, thanks.

  • Lenovo Legion Y540-17IRH bricked, need BIOS

    Hello everybody,

I have a bricked (after BIOS downgrade) Lenovo Legion Y540-17IRH notebook. Attached is a screenshot of the motherboard version and a dump of the corrupted BIOS. Could anybody provide me with an up-to-date, fixed BIOS file with all DMI information transferred?

I thank you very much in advance for your efforts.

  • Lenovo Y540-15IRH

hello, I have a lenovo legion y540 (nm-c221 rev 2.0), it suddenly turned off and then started to restart continuously, I reprogrammed the bios. After the reprogramming, the fans turned on for 5 seconds and then it turned off completely. The PU601 started to heat up and I discovered that there was an internal short in the ITE so I ordered a new one and put it on the board, but the laptop still doesn't give any sign, it doesn't start. I also read here on the forum that the IT8226E-192 on this model rewrites itself, is it true or do I have to rewrite it? I don't know what else to do with it......

  • I can only provide clean BIOS without serial/MTM/Win key in that case, as that DMI data is encrypted on the BIOS dump, it has to be copied to a clean BIOS, that's why you backup the existing content on the BIOS chip, even if corrupted or if you don't know what has been done to it, before flashing a new one

    BIOS extracted from Lenovo website for Lenovo Legion Y540-15IRH/Y540-15IRH-PG0/Y540-17IRH/Y540-17IRH-PG0/Y545/Y545 PG0, LEGION Y7000 2019/Y7000 2019 PG0/Y7000P 2019/Y7000P 2019 PG0

  • Bricked bios from a legion y540-15irh (81sx) . Needing dmi/clean me region maybe

Edit: apologies, I only need help with the DMI info.. I thought the ME region would need attention in order to recover from bricked state but maybe I misunderstood.

Im a novice to this experience but in short, I performed a backlash from the latest and final bios firmware BHCN45WW to BHCN26WW hoping that would solve an issue with keyboard functionality failing after an update. Ended up hanging during flash process and then system would no longer POST on reboot.

USB recovery process didn't seem to take. So today I successfully managed to get the BIOS dump from my machine...

  • legion y540 15irh (81sx) problem

Hi, I'm Alex from California,I'm a musician and gamer.

So, i have a Lenovo legion y540 15irh (81sx). 9th gen i7 ... It originally was on windows 10 when i got it, and apparently the bios boot mode was set to legacy mode.

Well, a few years after warranry ended, and apparently Lenovo recently ended service and updates for this, my keyboard randomly stopped working, but intermittently,

Refreshing windows 10 didnt help. I managed to safely change over the boot mode from legecy to UEFI, i updated to windows 11, but keyboard issues continued.

    It would...
