  • Gigabyte XT 6800 XT Aorus Master BIOS needed

    Hi everyone,

I have an AORUS MASTER RX 6800 XT (non USB-C version), and my problem is that FUSION RGB is not working, it is not finding the GPU, and the RGB lights are off. There is a new firmware on the Gigabyte site which is supposed to fix this exact issue, but their Firmware upgrade does not work (I just get the highly unhelpful Erasing Flash Failed message when trying to update). I tried various internet-recommended software fixes to address this, but nothing helped, the factory Gigabyte EXE refuses to flash the BIOS.

My last resort would really be flashing the...

    Hi,

Unfortunately no. In my case everything points to a damaged PCH. I tried everything to no avail.

Thank you very much for the files. After successful programming, the notebook still does not work. It is powering on for a split second with keyboard backlight and fan spin, but shuts down immediately. There are no obvious shorts anywhere, and in pressing the power button, the power sequence goes all the way through VCC_SA, but there is no voltage on the Vcore rails, not even for a millisecond. I need to diagnose this further, and will give feedback if I find out what the problem is.

ACER NITRO AN517-51 BIOS and EC

    Hi,

I have an Acer Nitro AN517-51 (EH5VF LA-H501P Rev:1A) with a faulty SIO. I want to replace and rewrite it, and also reflash the BIOS for safety's sake. I have attached dumps for both the BIOS as well as the SIO. Can somebody provide me with a clean, up-to-date BIOS with DMI info transferred as well as a separate, programmable EC extraction?

I thank you very much in advance for your help.

    Hi,

Yes, I use TL866+. I usually check automatic chip identification presented by XGecu, an I do not think that I have misidentified it, though it is not impossible. I searched for the GigaDevice you mentioned, it is also not available anywhere.

The W25R128JVSIQ is in stock at Mouser. Do you think that it might be compatible? It also has RPMC, and the voltages are OK.

I would never have thought that it is this difficult to get certain BIOS chips. I am forced too look out for a donor board, as you...

    Hi,

This is unbelievably useful information, as I was having a very hard time finding the W25R128JVSO chip originally on my board. Though it seems the Macronix you mentioned is also out of stock everywhere. Nevertheless, I will bee looking out, thank you very very much!

    Hi SMDFlea,

Thank you very much for picking this one up. I have to be honest (though i feel quite ashamed): I managed to physically LOOSE the BIOS chip. It was in the programmer, but the programmer fell on the floor as my kids decided to scramble around in my workshop without my presence. Now the chip is gone to another dimension. I must procure a replacement, and will give feedback after that.

  • Samsung Galaxy Book NP750XDA BIOS request

    Hi,

I have a Samsung Galaxy Book NP750XDA (board number NB3586/NB3587_PCB_MB_V5 REV:1.0. TITAN_MB). No charging light, no power, no POST. It had a burnt capacitor on the 3,3V line. After removing it, checking all rails and CS resistors for shorts, I powered it up. Charging light works, the battery is being charged. Powerup works, there is fan spin, but there is a constant power cycle and no POST. Furthermore, I get six long blue error blinks, but I have not found any info on what that means.

All rails have the correct voltages. It might be a BIOS issue. I have attached...

    Hoaca,

Thank you very much for the BIOS. Unfortunately there seems to be other problems as well as after the EC swap the notebook is not powering up. I am missing 5V and 3,3V, will diagnose further and let you know after I figured that out.

Dell G5 5590 Dead EC, need BIOS

    Hi,

I have a Dell G5 5590 notebook (motherboard VULCAN15_N18E REV A00) with a dead EC (MEC1416-NU). According to my information, this EC has no internal flash memory, but will load EC data from the BIOS into some kind of RAM after power up. Since the new EC has arrived, I want to make absolutely sure that the BIOS is in perfect condition before replacing the EC.

I have attached a dump from the current BIOS. Can somebody clean it, or better yet, provide me with the newest version with DMI information transferred?

Also, there is one other flash chip...

    Hi mcplslg123,

Sorry for the late reply, I was out of the house. I rechecked SDA again, and you are right. I must have measured a neighboring pin. SDA now shows 3,3V constant high with RAM installed and when powered on.

So I guess memory is all right. What should I check next?

I thank you very much for your help and BTW, happy new year!

  • Re: HP PROBOOK 440 G6 Mosfet dying again and again

    Hi,

Not every coil is showing voltage, there is one below the CPU Vcore coils which has 0V (see previously attached screenshot). I do not know what it powers, but I guess it is voltage for the IGPU.

I do have a scope, so I checked pins you mentioned. The results are the following:

-SDA PIN 254: multimeter shows around 0,7V, scope shows that there is communication
    -VDD PIN 255: 3.3V
-SCL PIN 253: 3.3V, scope showd no communication (though I could only check...

Re: DELL XPS 9360 BIOS Corrupted

    Hi hoaca,

Thank you for the BIOS files. I used the non-vpro version, as I think the notebook is a non-vpro version (though I am not 100% sure).

It still does not POST, but the symptoms have clearly changed. Now there is a 2 amber, 5 white error blink code, which means wrong memory installed, then there is a short fan spin, and then shutdown.

This is strange, as the memory is soldered on the board.

    1) Should I try the vpro version?
    2) Is there something wrong with the...
