Hey there...so interesting development. First of all, the fix you did for me on my bios dumo works like a charm. Thank you big time for that.
The development however is this: so they keyboard is currently working but a few keys (approximately 10 or so, either do not output anything or they trigger a different key entirely. Now, the only way the keyboard will work is only if when I first boot the system, I do so with the ac.adapter disconnected initially. Once it's powered on, then I can reconnect th3 AC adapter and the keyboard will continue to function just fine. I've tried this...

I agree on that note... Ok so regarding the BIOS you helped fix for me, does the ec firmware match for bhcn45ww as well? I know the ec firmware on my dump is from version bhcn27ww ...which is what remained when I attempted the failed back flash from the current firmware installed at that time.
I've read on here someone experienced the identical hang up when they attempted to rebuild the bios.
Do I need to be concerned about the ME region as well?...Leave a comment:

, also, yes, you are correct. My motherboard is nm-c221 rev 1.0 (I think 1.0? But I'm.confused as to why I see info from other users with the identical 81sx, 1660ti gtx 256gb ssd that say rev 2.0).
I did manage to get the keyboard working on 2 separate occasions when I messed around with lenivos system update and downloaded did the suggested driver update for the Nvidia vga adapter I believe it was .. but on reboot it stopped once again ... And another occasion it was as simple as a power drain and battery pull... But again, back to square 1 on reboot...
If this fix...Leave a comment:

EDIT!!!! I Found A significant development.... after reviewing my bios dump with the added dmi, I just discovered that it was at BHCN27WW. The stock bios image from the lenovo site is for bhcn45ww which is the latest and final bios firmware.... I attempted to backflash from it down to an earlier version in hopes it would resolve keyboard issues that occurred when windows did an update, Not sure what i should do at this point but tell me whats needed and i'll do as much as i understand how.
OH, apologies! I initially tried to upload the .bin files instead of zipping. Here is the original...Leave a comment:

Bricked bios from a legion y540-15irh (81sx) . Needing dmi/clean me region maybe
Edit: apologies, I only need help with the DMI info.. I thought the ME region would need attention in order to recover from bricked state but maybe I misunderstood.
Im a novice to this experience but in short, I performed a backlash from the latest and final bios firmware BHCN45WW to BHCN26WW hoping that would solve an issue with keyboard functionality failing after an update. Ended up hanging during flash process and then system would no longer POST on reboot.
USB recovery process didn't seem to take. So today I successfully managed to get the BIOS dump from my machine...Last edited by Lexsmash85; 08-06-2025, 03:47 AM. Reason: Need to add DMI Information and possibly clean ME region possibly in order to recover bricked laptop that won't POST. -
Well, I've spent nearly a month learning all I can discover about this issue. I have the programmer and it's put together...just waiting to clip it onto the chip... Just nervous to do it is all. Especially now that I'm seeing that it is not as simple as extracting the bios.fd file from the executable (which is over 17 mb rather than 16mb like is the size of the chip...and I'm seeing that I'll still need to insure that the serial, and relevant info that keeps my Windows key intact will remain on the new flash.
Regardless, it's not so much that recovery attempts are failing but a matter...Leave a comment:

legion y540 15irh (81sx) problem
Hi, I'm Alex from California,I'm a musician and gamer.
So, i have a Lenovo legion y540 15irh (81sx). 9th gen i7 ... It originally was on windows 10 when i got it, and apparently the bios boot mode was set to legacy mode.
Well, a few years after warranry ended, and apparently Lenovo recently ended service and updates for this, my keyboard randomly stopped working, but intermittently,
Refreshing windows 10 didnt help. I managed to safely change over the boot mode from legecy to UEFI, i updated to windows 11, but keyboard issues continued.
It would... -
Hi, I'm new here. I have legion y540 15irh model 81sx. I started off with issues not being able to use my keyboard aside from some fn key combos that worked.... Eventually I attempted to bsckflssh from version 4t to 26... So far I'm having now luck outside of the blinking post button light, fan on right side running very low. I'm trying the crisis recovery option but it appears everything is suggested I locate the bios file for version 39...so bhcn39ww. I can't access my computer so I can't extract the bin file from the exe.... I'm hoping somebody can give me some encoursging advice and also the...Leave a comment:
