    Sharp 50bj2ke horizontal lines

This is only my seond post and so far i am very impressed with the forums.
I have a Sharp 50bj2ke which is 6 month out of gaurantee and has devoloped horizontal lines, i have tried to research as much as possible but i am no further is diagnosing the issue. When i turn the tv on it works good with only a thin line right at the top of the screen which i could live with but after a couple hours of use the lines start to appear in the middle of the screen and now the bottom.
The small white box thing in the pics is not the tv its a reflection from the window

Any suggestions to which may be causing this would be appreciated.

try turning your backlights not brightness down and see if it makes a difference in the lines.

maybe you are covered by that European 6 year guarantee, may have to deal with the place of purchase rather than the manufacturer.

I will have to look into that as i didnt have a clue about it. It came with a year guarantee from Sharp which i thought was a bit poor.

Hi thanks for reply.....i turned the backlight setting right down but the lines stayed the same, they actually stood our more, I thought its maybe a heat issue as the lines only appear when the tv has been on for a few hours, i tried turning it off for 30 mins and turned it back on the lines had gone but appeared again after the tv had been on for a bit.

it sounds like a common problem to the panel,.not recoverable fully, it's strange the way it appears, because a faulty line usually affect the rest of the screen.. i can't see well if the lines are precisely 1 pixel high and starts and ends from beginning/ end of the screen width..

It's the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that covers this TV, see this thread.

Also, Richer Sounds gives 6 years warranty as standard on their TVs.
