Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?

5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while watching a movie thru our AppleTV which we've had for years. Same receiver, but again, now nothing is connected and it's still happening with just the TV. Updated firmware. Unplugged from wall for a while. Nothing helped. T-con? Panel? Something else? I'm happy to test voltages, post more videos, etc., if anyone needs more info.

I just disconnected each side of the T-Con to test whether the problem persisted on the still connected side and it disappeared for the most part. One side still showed a slight flicker in the picture occasionally, but the main grey line issue ceased. The other side was 100% fine. I would've posted a video of this minimal flicker when disconnected, but it didn't show up on video.

Here's the video of the main issue:

Just a quick update on this, I replaced the T-con board. Same issue, didn’t make it any better at all. After it warms up for 45 minutes or so it ends up with a jumping screen and a gray line at the bottom. I’ve ordered a new main board, that’s my last shot. Then I’ll call it dead if that doesn’t work.

Usually horizontal lines are indication of screen defect. Could be bad cap on the buffer boards also. Check all caps on there

A photo doesn't show too much, the videos in my first post are better. In any case, here's one. It shows the gray line at the bottom, what it doesn't show is that when the gray line appears, the picture shifts upward. This is a constant cycle, it does it for a second or 2, then stops, then again. It's like a pulse.

Maybe clean the flat ribbon connections of tcon both ends, can use a pencil eraser or isopropyl alcohol, may be this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbGAkRgaZhs&t=0s

Samsung QN70Q6DTA Ghost or horizontal lines after tape fix horizontal line
                by Ihandyrepair
                Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

Sony XBR-65X750D Horizontal lines bottom of screen
                by ggil44
Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

                Samsung UN46C8000XFXZA Horizontal lines
                by x_orange90_x
I just acquired this 3D LED yesterday and it has horizontal lines on a little more than half of the screen. When I first turn it on it has thin black lines going across that makes the image look serrated, and then shortly after patterns of thicker red lines fade in. If I turn it off and right back on it will reset to just the black lines and the red will again fade onto the screen.

I initially thought tab bonds, but flexing the bezel makes no difference, and the fact the image sort of resets after cycling power is different. I haven't opened it up yet to actually test applying...

Physically bending the T-Con board creates horizontal dotted lines on OLED55CXPUA
                by fredtred
                Hello!
I have been trying to solve this issue the past 12 months to no avail. I have been a lurker here during that time but finally decided to post my problem and see if anybody knows a solution.

                Problem
My tv (OLED55CXPUA) has an issue where it displays horizonal lines of dotted artifacts.

                (See Attachment 1)

                Self Diagnosing
After a very long troubleshooting period I traced the issue to the T-Con board. If I gently flexed/bend the board I could make the display go from GOOD to BAD and vice versa. I have ruled out the connectors/wires...

LCD Tv starts to display black horizontal lines after half an hour of use
                by Gjackson
Hi, I have a sort of old Grundig LCD Led TV that starts to display black horizontal lines after some use. After it's been turned off for a while and cold it does not display any artifacts however after some use it starts to display some faint horizontal lines at the top of the screen and a bunch in the middle of the screen. The longer the tv is on the worse they get until they become very clearly visible. I suspect that heat has something to do with this as when the lines start to appear i notice that the tv's metal case has gotten warm. Could the T-CON start to malfunction when it starts to get...
