    Re: 42LG50 no backlight

Nice work, I replaced these black fuses more than I can count with two hands, I use PICOII Axial lead fuses, none of the TV have come back after three years or more. You can easily measure the current draw using your DMM, if you have peak-hold, you will see the start up current is real close to the fuse rating which does not have any headroom at all.

      Re: 42LG50 no backlight

Hi, I have this same tv and the same black fuse was burnt as mentioned here for other people.

I replaced the fuse and now instead of no back light, it simply lights up for a few seconds but will not stay on.

Does anyone have any idea what would cause it to not stay lit?

Mine also has the same bad fuse and now it turns on for a second and the shuts off. Does anyone have a suggestion on what to test next?
