    Black screen LG 43UK6300PLB

    Hi Guys.

Probably something that have been seen before.

Out of the blue the screen turned black but can still hear the audio.

I can see the backlight on so that's something we can exclude.

Now, i have found a video on youtube of this guy taping x amount of pins on the cable that goes from the mainboard to the screen. Tried that, i can see the screen now but the bottom of it still remains black with a lot of vertical distortions.

I have been told that the Tcon board needs replacing. I can see that are different opinions on where tcon board is. Some say tcon board is attached to the screen (actually 2 boards, long and narrow) and some say the tcon board is integrated on the mainboard.

I'm too inexperienced to find where the fault is, i'd love to know if there is a simple fix/replace i can perform to avoid buying a new tele.

    Thanks for you help

Something i have missed to mention, it does not matter if i disconnect one of the cable that goes to the screen, i am not able to see any of the two halves of the screen working correctly.

could be bad solder balls on the ic under the aliminium heat sink on the main board a lot of lgs suffer from it. If a replacement mainboard was available at a resonable price and came with a gaurantee i would certainly be trying a replacement board.

Thanks. I have ordered one for £10 including shipping. hope for the best.

Another question, what are those 2 boards attached to the screen?

Those are the panel boards that distribute the voltages and data out to the panel. Sometimes they are also incorporate the t-con on the panel boards.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

I've been seeing more and more LG K series having panel problems, the most common fault is just a black screen, no image at all.

Like their F, H and J models, all have garbage panels that last 3 years.

I bet for a bad cap on the the panel's boards, often almost easy to find, but the fact you can obtain an image with tape method gives me a doubt, can you show us a photo of that bad picture?

HI. Unfortunately i tried again to do the trick with the tape but does not work anymore.

I did not purchase anything yet and i'm tempted to put the tv in the skip.

I'd like to be certain is the mainboard and not the lcd screen.

maybe tear it down and inspect the cofs, lots of times you find one that's obviously burnt.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

                      Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

LG 82UN8570AUD ~ TCON or PANEL?
                      by kca
                      Hello all ~

Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.

When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.

I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                      by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

                      Hello,

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...
