    If a screen does this...

Here are two images of screens and what they are doing. What commonly causes these two types of things? They are both LCDs.

The one with the white vertical line works fine otherwise.

I don't own either of these TVs, just doing research on common problems people are reporting.

Seems to me the one with vertical and horizontal lines is going to be main board, tcon, or panel?

And the vertical white line will be...?

    Thanks!

I'm attempting to channel Wizard, but I recall he said the vertical line indicates a dead driver on the panel. These are bonded to the panel ribbon cables, and unreplaceable.

You mean the vertical white line, right? That's a pity.

Busted how? Broken panel? Is that what LCDs often do when broken?

These photos shown here is bad drivers or something hit the LCD panel and damaged it. Unfortunately.

              Cheers, Wizard

I have several broken lcd tvs( panels ) and none of them look like either of these. I think a little more info here is needed. Internal or external?

To fix laptop screen vertical line by working on its EDP cable
                  by almarhum
Has one here really gone through fixing laptop screen vertical line(s) by repairing/replacing its Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable, so would recount and share the complete steps of the process here now?

As most, if not all, believe the laptop screen vertical line(s) caused by defective Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable which slipped and passed through either laptop screen hinge but post here is asking help to elaborate definitively the useful, real knowledge of repairing in the most complete, correct way, esp. can decide/determine whether the cable can still be fixed or must be re...

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed🙏
                  by Daren87
                  Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

To ask here... I have few devices with white screen problem, actualy nokia 2220 and some fuji? camera, and try to understand what is common problem to cause that issue.
Yes, both devices work everything else probably ok, I mean, I hear intro melody and keypress click sound, DTMF tone, power on off... all ok.
On desk is nokia 2220 slide, and I check all screen connectors and components arround it, measure voltage drop, but all looks ok. I suspect on slide flex cable, but it look ok and white screen is not interupt while flexing board, pushing conectors, and sliding up down. In attachment...

LG 82UN8570AUD ~ TCON or PANEL?
                  by kca
                  Hello all ~

Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.

When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.

I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped...

                  Hello Forum Team

                  Have this issue
Found signs of burning or some sort of build up of something on the flex cables that go between T-CON and screen buffer boards
Tried cleaning the flex cables and the ports where they go in but the problem remains
Swapped the flex cables but problem remains
Cannot see anything burnt on the main board or the t-con board
Checked for shorted capacitors on the buffer board and did not find anything

Am going to try using sticky tape on one of the flex cables to and see if i can resolve
