TV's should be like the auto industry, You could by a really good car for $5,000, now they are 50,000
A 60" lcd tv should be the same, price should be $20,000 that way they could use better components.
That kind of pricing encourages scalpers, including scalping econo-boxes! No thank you!

What kind of meter do you have? Pictures of it?

I think the maximum voltage for my multimeter is 300V.

Bad news for you and me - that's how I've been discharging both main caps every time I remove the main board. Across the leads one at a time with a screwdriver until I see sparks.
Not bad news for me, it's your tv. in most case the caps will discharge on there own after a couple minutes, Just don't touch that circuit if you are doing tests on other parts of the board. and don't lay the board across the metal of the tv . When you short the caps with a screwdriver, the large current and the large spike created can at a minimum blow the pfc drive ic.

It is best to check the voltage across the main caps and see what the voltage is when it is disconnected. You should use an appropriate resistor to discharge the caps.

Check the voltage on plug PD pin 5,6,7,8 If it is 13.2 volts (or close to it) the pfc circuit is working and there is no need to check the voltage across the main caps. And DO NOT short those caps to discharge them you will kill the board.

Oh, can you tell me how to check that? I have a few hours to kill. Still tinkering.

This will only effect the PFC voltage. I doubt its your problem if you are getting UR13.2 volts on PD pin 5,6,7,8 ,or a simple check of the voltage ACROSS one of the main filter capacitors (C7800A or B) in the primary will give the answer.

Aha! Now we're getting somewhere. D7805 is on my board, I tested it and there are numbers coming through. Just not sure what the values should be. But I know it would be lower than 1000 according to youtube.

If D7805 IS indeed shorted it would effect the PFC voltage which can be measured across one of the main filter capacitors. (160vdc in standby) (385vdc with power ON)

    NUR460 reads 499, then 498. I think that means it's ok.

In retrospect sonys aren't really that bad, I prefer them over samsung as far as reliability goes, specially since 2013 or so when they went to all led backlighting, later came oled which has it's own problems of course.

I just found someone with a similar code 2 blinks 2 blinks with a failed NUR460. I'm grasping at straws now.

Everything looks clean. All the LEDS are clean looking with no brown or black marks on them, all the ICs on the sides and bottom are new looking with no melting or anything and the image has no lines in it when it's working. Just haven't been able to turn it on since the last failure. Stopped working mid-movie and no progress since.

It could be one thing leading to the whole failure. I've been reading on the board and found it to be a catch-all error code so I'm not sure.

Sharp 80” long short flash backlight error - Help
    by Superbee_dad
    Hello Sharp TV experts
Our Sharp LC-80LE642U displays one short one long flash error code which is a backlight error. I went into service mode and there were 8 lamp error counts recorded. I reset the count to 0 and did a reset. The last monitor error cause was 16 B00014639:12. 16 is the code for backlight error. I tried to power the tv up but went back into error mode.

    > I checked voltages on the power supply board and they all check out .. including 3.28 volts at the error pin.
    > There is power to the cpu and T-CONN and no faults found there. The cpu has a flashing...

Sharp LC-55N7000U 1 long 5 short blinking, no display
    by cm0002
    Hi everyone,

I've got a Sharp LC-55N7000U. It has a standbuy LED when plugged in, but powering it on causes it to blink 1 LONG and 5 FAST. Theres no display and no backlight.

Nothing I checked has that blink pattern for Sharp TVs and there's only one multi-button on the TV itself so that service menu trick involving the input button doesn't work either. Its a post-Hisense buyout TV so that probably makes sense lol

I've tried disconnecting the panel sides from the TCON alternating sides, but no change in behaviour even when the whole TCON is disconnected,...

    Sharp LC-80LE844U Blinks 2 slow, 5 fast
    by joblo37pam
It's been a while since I've checked in here or needed input on narrowing down what to replace on a TV repair, but I've got one on my bench now that has me wondering. The lack of part (board) availability means I may need to do some component-level diagnostics, and a second opinion is always good when it comes to that.

The issue - Sharp LC-80LE844U does not display. Power light comes on for a while, then you can hear a relay click off and the light blinks twice slow, then five times fast. Service manual points to 'Panel Power Supply Error' with this code, but isn't much more help...

    Sharp Lc-70le734u blinking 2 long 5 short
    by Charrlie
Just picked up this sharp tv not too long ago and it started not wanting to start the other day, giving me the notorious 2 long-5 short blink pattern indicating a power issue. I was able to force start it a handful of times (once the tv has fired up it has no issue running for 5+ hours). But now as of yesterday, no matter what I try to do button combination wise, I just receive the same blinking code.

So I busted into it and have done the following:

-Removed the power board and inspected for any bad caps, burn spots etc. Do not see any instances of such ...

    Hi community,

I will describe my problem with a TV in those short following terms to be the most precise :

    What i have :
    Sharp Aquos LC-60LE635E
    power board DPS-162KP-1
    main logic board QPWBXF733WJN2

    symptoms :
white led light logo at startup,
after 2 minutes, blinking 3 times a row, repeating
no backlight (and apparently no picture, checked panel with flashlight)
    no startup sound

    powerboard investigations :

    1-2 PNL : 0v
    3-4 GND
    5-6-7-8 UR : 13.15v
