When you say reverse bias do you mean similar reading? Because testing the other way reads 0.Leave a comment:

.4 to .6 is a good diode reading. Just make sure the diode does not reverse bias.Leave a comment:

I tested D7805 using a diode test on my meter and it read 494. Is that a correct number or does that mean it's bad?Leave a comment:

Re: Sharp LC60C6400U - 2 long binks, 5 short blinks error code
It's a diode, Use diode test, it should read open one way and .5xx or .6xx the other way. If it reads shorted then it needs to be replaced with the newer version.Leave a comment:

Hello R_J
Can you give some guidance how to test this diode with my multimeter?Leave a comment:

Re: Sharp LC60C6400U - 2 long binks, 5 short blinks error code
I'm going to remove R7305 and test it with my multimeter since it's a component that can be fried in similar models IE: LC-70 series
Since there is a repair kit including the KIA378R12PI I think I'm on the right track now.Leave a comment:

Your meter might not be ideal for some measurements, you can pick up a digital one at a big box store for around 10 bucks.Leave a comment:

Re: Sharp LC60C6400U - 2 long binks, 5 short blinks error code
Yeah that's too scary for me, plus my meter only goes to 300V. I don't want to buy another multimeter. Looks like I'm stuck at a dead end for now. The only thing it may very well be is the flex tabs, but removing them from one side would be a foolish 50/50 gamble especially when I see no signs of damage on any of the ICs. Also want to mention again that I was able to watch movies, tv shows with no signs of horizontal lines or banding issues which is a telltale sign of the gate drivers failing according to others. It just suddenly stopped working mid-movie and didn't want to come back on again. 2 -5 code.
I think it is wisest to keep the TV in the back of the room and wait for the same model to come along again with a smashed screen and harvest the boards to play around with.Leave a comment:

Re: Sharp LC60C6400U - 2 long binks, 5 short blinks error code
Just carefully measure the voltage of the big caps as mentioned, with tv powered on, don't touch them with anything but the meter leads because it is DEADLY VOLTAGE. If you're not comfortable doing it, you certainly don't have to.Leave a comment:

Re: Sharp LC60C6400U - 2 long binks, 5 short blinks error code
the story written at post #1 make me remember an issue at CRT from philips , when the one regulator got defect after replace it it work for short time then get defect again... electronic shops start to sell repair kits to all component related to this regulator to replace at once then it done for ever.. yours story very close to this.. dont trust test parts with meter... find the value of them and replace all.Leave a comment:

Re: Sharp LC60C6400U - 2 long binks, 5 short blinks error code
If pin 1 on PL connector on the t-con board reads 3.5V does that mean it's bad? Should it always be 12V when the tv powers on?Leave a comment:

Re: Sharp LC60C6400U - 2 long binks, 5 short blinks error code
Yes, if PFC Voltage is working then you should have about 380 ~ 400VDC (when TV is turned on) when measure between the Positive leg and the Negative leg of the caps.Leave a comment:

Get a new meter so you find out if the PFC Voltage booster is working or not.Leave a comment:

Re: Sharp LC60C6400U - 2 long binks, 5 short blinks error code
Here is my multimeter. Maybe it can handle it, I am a noob remember. I'm leaning towards powerboard failure, just need to figure out the components that need replacing. If the ICs on the flex cables fail is it always obvious? I inspected them all and they look very clean or new without and melting or burning on them. Also LED strip is 100% clean looking (now I know when they die sometimes they look the same) but I saw a youtube video of a couple burned ones on a strip out of a similar 60" Sharp where one looked black and another brown. Also I know that an LED strip problem has it's own blink code.Leave a comment:

by Superbee_dadHello Sharp TV experts
Our Sharp LC-80LE642U displays one short one long flash error code which is a backlight error. I went into service mode and there were 8 lamp error counts recorded. I reset the count to 0 and did a reset. The last monitor error cause was 16 B00014639:12. 16 is the code for backlight error. I tried to power the tv up but went back into error mode.

by cm0002Hi everyone,
I've got a Sharp LC-55N7000U. It has a standbuy LED when plugged in, but powering it on causes it to blink 1 LONG and 5 FAST. Theres no display and no backlight.
Nothing I checked has that blink pattern for Sharp TVs and there's only one multi-button on the TV itself so that service menu trick involving the input button doesn't work either. Its a post-Hisense buyout TV so that probably makes sense lol
I've tried disconnecting the panel sides from the TCON alternating sides, but no change in behaviour even when the whole TCON is disconnected,... -
by joblo37pamIt's been a while since I've checked in here or needed input on narrowing down what to replace on a TV repair, but I've got one on my bench now that has me wondering. The lack of part (board) availability means I may need to do some component-level diagnostics, and a second opinion is always good when it comes to that.
The issue - Sharp LC-80LE844U does not display. Power light comes on for a while, then you can hear a relay click off and the light blinks twice slow, then five times fast. Service manual points to 'Panel Power Supply Error' with this code, but isn't much more help... -
by CharrlieJust picked up this sharp tv not too long ago and it started not wanting to start the other day, giving me the notorious 2 long-5 short blink pattern indicating a power issue. I was able to force start it a handful of times (once the tv has fired up it has no issue running for 5+ hours). But now as of yesterday, no matter what I try to do button combination wise, I just receive the same blinking code.
So I busted into it and have done the following:
-Removed the power board and inspected for any bad caps, burn spots etc. Do not see any instances of such ... -
by klassicHi community,
I will describe my problem with a TV in those short following terms to be the most precise :
What i have :
Sharp Aquos LC-60LE635E
power board DPS-162KP-1
main logic board QPWBXF733WJN2
symptoms :
white led light logo at startup,
after 2 minutes, blinking 3 times a row, repeating
no backlight (and apparently no picture, checked panel with flashlight)
no startup sound
powerboard investigations :
1-2 PNL : 0v
3-4 GND
5-6-7-8 UR : 13.15v
