Re: Samsung UN65NU6900F
I think I've figured it out. Some of the LEDs are burned out on the bottom left of this EDGE-LIT TV, making the remaining lights brighter than the rest. This is wear them down more quickly as they are burning brighter and hotter than the rest. How am I doing so far?

Samsung UN65NU6900F
Here I have a Samsung with a good panel and partial illumination. I am guessing based on the bright spot at the bottom of the screen that one of the LED strips has come loose and fallen to the bottom of the set, but I am guessing about the orientation being vertical. Most TVs have the strips set horizontally. Just thought I'd post first in case there is a good solution or tips for removing the panel safely. I've damaged about 3 now....

Re: Samsung UN50TU8000F - 1 horizontal line, 1 vertical
I find it very strange that the only helpful videos happen to all be from Brazil and in Spanish. My paranoid theory on this is as follows: Samsung knowingly discontinues a faulty model with a much higher than average fault rate, but then has to sell its remaining stock. They choose Canada and Brazil because the market is different and they don't want to upset American buyers or lose their confidence. So they pick on other countries by dumping this inferior faulted model and give the owners the runaround telling them "we...

Samsung UN50TU8000F - 1 horizontal line, 1 vertical
I have a 50" panel that is SO close to being saved. I checked Youtube and Reddit and found this panel has a few faults as well as power-on issues but can be resolved with the "tape fix". Since I found no matches on the forum for this model yet I thought I'd get a thread started. All the videos on youtube appear to be Brazilian, but no Americans have uploaded. Is this model only available in Canada or Mexico or Brasil for some reason? Is Samsung ditching this model on markets other than American because they know it is faulty? It's only 2 years old with 141 hours. Just looking for...

LG 55UJ6200 - backlight turns on, power light blinks 3 times, nothing else
Just replaced all the LED strips and successfully turned on the set and even watched some HDR content, but then noticed a small piece of dirt dead center in the screen. Tried flicking the screen to get it to drop to the bottom as well as static-charging a cloth and rubbing it to make it go down the screen, but no luck.
So I proceeded to disassemble the whole set again. You can guess what comes next.
The set lights up fine, but blinks 3 red blinks and no menu or anything else. The screen looks fine, but there could be panel damage or a short. Also the lights stay on....

Re: LG 43UF6400 - displays static on all inputs, sound works, menus look and run perf
I only disagree with putting cardboard in the oven, I used a flat pan with four tiny balls of aluminum foil under each corner to keep it all level.

Re: LG 43UF6400 - displays static on all inputs, sound works, menus look and run perf
Had luck finding a solution with a comment on a youtube video!
SOLVED the issue this week. My 55" LG TV was doing the exact same thing. But it's now working perfectly, and it didn't cost me anything to fix it. I had tried the "reflow oven trick", which is putting the motherboard in the oven at 380 degrees for 10 minutes. That did nothing, but I didn't give up, and tried 3 more times.
First time: 380 degrees for 10 mins = no result
Second time: 400 degrees...

Re: LG 43UF6400 - displays static on all inputs, sound works, menus look and run perf
There is an audible high pitched "pinging" sound coming from the mainboard when plugged in, but not powered on. Maybe one of the chips with the heatsinks over it.

I wonder if it's the mainboard or t-con board. I also wondered why nobody else has posted about this model yet.

Re: LG 55UJ6200, flashes logo, then black
I went ahead and ordered the strips since they were way cheaper than expected. It's a good set reviewed at 4.6 out of 5. Must be worth fixing for many people since the price has come down for the strips about 6-7 dollars in the past 2 years. Supply and demand. Yes I am also leaving everything intact until the big day, but it's still a dice roll if you're not careful. I unfortunately do not have an LED tester, so I'm going to replace them all and cross my fingers, but I can see the image and navigate the menus with a flashlight in hand.

LG 55UJ6200, flashes logo, then black
Now I'm fairly certain this is caused by failing LED strips, but I wanted to post here first before I bite the bullet and wait a month for the part to come in from China.
I was wondering if there is a way to jump start it on using my existing strips, IE: solder blob over the dead leds in the hopes of completing the circuit?
Or alternatively is it possible to trick the protection circuit into simply turning the TV on with the remaining live LEDs on the set?
I am eager to see the picture to ensure the quality is good before I spend money since all...

Re: RCA RTU5540-B, flashes once - no backlight
Whatever was preventing it from turning on, after re-connecting everything it seems to be resolved! The TV is now working! However, I will never turn it off again for fear the power board is on it's last days, and also because LED strips always burn out leds the instant you power them on just like light bulbs, soooo...

Re: RCA RTU5540-B, flashes once - no backlight
So I can confirm that EVERY single LED lights up. I took a video of each side, slowed it down and then watched it for each side of the tv, one connector at a time. The problem it seems is the ability for my power board to deliver enough power to turn on both sides simultaneously. I am confident it needs a new power board, or possible repair (not likely since I'm a noob)
