I tested D7805 using a diode test on my meter and it read 494. Is that a correct number or does that mean it's bad?

.4 to .6 is a good diode reading. Just make sure the diode does not reverse bias.

When you say reverse bias do you mean similar reading? Because testing the other way reads 0.
