    LG 60UF7300-UT issue

No audio and unit will not show video except the brief Channel information in upper left corner.

Have done no diagnostic yet, but apparently LG had mainboard issues with solder joints. There's one guy on Youtube showing how you heat the motherboard in an oven to 385 for 10 minutes and this causes the solder to flow and correct the problem. Any input, before I try and roast my MB?

385f won't cause lead free solder to flow.

showing channel info only with out broadcast picture or audio almost "IN_STOP" reset could solve it in case the signal of source strong.

it looks the Tuner Hardware register missing or changed at the firmware.. same if some one change the code of it at service A_Z Adjust menu, it will not catch signal.... if no one change it then In_stop will write back the original one.
to approve this the set could have picture and audio if OP feed it with HDMI signal or USB media content,, before he go to cooking it.

Anyone suggest something a relative novice like myself can attempt?

Audio only goes through the main board (as long as the power is present and stable) so is your main suspect. For a novice, replacing it is the easiest option. In stop is a service remote command to perform a factory reset. You will either need as service remote or a smartphone with IR so you can download a LG remote app.

Hi, i'm fighting with a LG led tv smart 3d that doesn't show other inputs than aerial, i bet yours 90% is bad cpu soldering, it is a constant with LG led tvs, mine is 100% , the cases are growing every day, i'm not sure if it is a tin fact or a thermal pad very poor.. almost no need to formulate diagnosis, a won bet..

PS: it's fool to cook it in oven dry as it is.. a giant tv needs a better treatment like a sending repair work by pro reballing service.. and after this... new heat conductive stuff like cream and a temp conttrolled fan. +cream change every 2 years.. and better stop append tvs to the wall like an artwork, they don't breathe..

Unfortunately with these boards the issue is not with the solder but the BGA chip itself. The chip itself is defective and needs to be replaced. Putting your board in the oven can will not fix this. If you can replace the large BGA at the top left corner of the main board, then you have a good chance of fixing your issue.

I can't image how a bad processor can work normally in the.software basis standing on what shows the pictures, that shows a normal graphic layer, the messed up DTV is due to bad contacts berween cpu<>tuner or cpu<>ram.

Lg's UF series sucks. That BGA chip will fail almost 100%. Best bet is to get somebody to reball it with some kind of warranty.

Acer Helios 500 (PH517-51) - unexpected reboots when laptop is warm (cold solder joint issue?)
                          by Mirenia
                          Hi everyone,

got an Acer Helios 500 Laptop (PH517-51) for diagnosing with a strange issue:

The laptop runs for a while (1-2 hours, sometimes less) and then suddenly shuts completely off, like someone pulled the power cord and restarts immediately after on its own.
If this happened once, then the laptop only runs for a few minutes until restart.
This happens regardless while staying in windows or uefi or in a linux environment.

At first I thought of a normal overheating issue, but as I monitored temps with HWInfo64, nothing seems very hot.

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) USB-C Port Issue – Only Works in One Orientation (CC Line Problem?)
                          by rounin
                          Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

                          🛠 Original Issue
                          The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

Three 820-01700 32GB Logic Boards Same Issue: Won't Wake From Hibernate
                          by ugamazing
I have three identical-spec 820-01700 boards (2.6/32/512), and ALL THREE boards came to us with the same fault, from different sources: The boards don't wake from hibernation with the keyboard or lid, they ONLY wake when you press the power button. I understand this is a very minor issue, but the boards must be fixed!

We will of course begin with the obvious (checking lid signals), but I couldn't help but notice these three boards were all 32GB variants. Has anyone noticed an issue relating to these 32GB boards in particular? I of course don't think it's a RAM issue, but it's bizarre...

Best way to solder LVDS connector for beginner (and qfn) ?
                          by corrize
Hello, I'm a beginner for micro soldering. Right now I have some difficult to solder a qfn 20, I guess I put too much solder on the thermal-ground pad, the result is a corner of chip wich don't touch the board (last try).

I use a wire solder with hot air, I tin the board and chip before with iron and I use good flux.

I will have to solder a LVDS connector (40 pins, laptop pc), I saw a solder paste in seringe, good quality (it does not scatter).
                          See the test :
