TCL 55S425 backlights wont turn off
Need some advice here. So I picked up this 55" off the curb and diagnosed it with bad leds. I opened it up, tested the 4 strips with the tester and yes, 2 strips had burnt leds. I ordered a new set and installed them. But before putting tv back together, I always test tv to make sure I did it correctly. Tv lights up and works, however when turning tv off, the top set of leds remain on. Swapped power supply with identical one and same results. Swapped MB with identical one, same results. So I put the tv back together and reset MB. Tv works fine like new, but leds remain on when powering...

The video was about a shorted panel I needed help with, but she was doing something with the ICs. What caught my eye was the phone. (about 12:50 into the video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdw8Mub9ReUhttps://The video was about a shorte...8Mub9ReU...

Tv taping method made easy
Just wanted to share some information that I ran across when attempting to do the tape method on a tv with a shorted panel. I normally use magnifying glasses however while watching a you tube video, the person was using their phone. It seems that the Iphone has a magnifier app and wow, it works great. I have Iphone 11 and the app is built in. Pictures attached are screen shots. Made taping the pins a breeze. Also useful when reading the tiny print on the boards. Hope this helps somebody. The nicest easiest job I've ever had was I found a 65" Hisense Roku tv on the curb laying on top of a 65" Samsung box. Evidently they bought a new tv and threw out the old one. The tv had a constant reboot and after 1 google research, I found that al it needed was to be reset by pushing a button. Tv worked fine so I gave it to a friend who just rented an apartment and needed a tv. 6 months later, still working fine

It was the power supply. I bought a repair kit from ShopJimmy ( $38) which included the main board, PSU and T con. 1st tv fired right up and stayed on. I put the original MB back in and tv turned on and everything is ok. I repeated this on the 2nd tv and the results were the same. Unfortunately, the second screen had a vertical line down the right side. So out of 2 free tvs, I got one to work for 38 bucks.

So I tried to get the backlights to turn on by jumping the 2 pins with a 1kR. The P_ON and the Bl_ON pins are charted on the back of the Mb. When turned on, the logo screen appears for 15 seconds (I timed it) and then the backlights go out. No backlights but sound and image still present. I also think the problem is with the main board not sending the signal after initial startup. There are a few MB on Ebay for less than $25, so I'll try one....

TCL 43S431 Backlight issue or Power Supply
I was wondering if anyone else has come across this problem. What was the problem?, and was it solved. I recently picked up 2 of these tvs and both initially diagnosed as bad backlights. When turned on, the backlights flash the red logo screen. Sound and an image is clear using a flashlight. So I buy 2 sets of leds. When they arrive I take one tv apart and test the leds before removing them. OMG they all work. but I put the new ones in anyway. So I think its the power supply. I swap PS from one to the other and same results. Now here is the issue and really confused me. I reset the tv using...

Samsung UN65NU8000F No Picture
Picked this tv up off the curb in excellent condition but its in reboot loop. Im not a tech so I dont understand all the technical talk. I have done all the common things like disconnecting the main cable and the lights stay on. Removing lvds cables one at a time produces nothing but the constant reboot loop. I would like to try the jumper thing but can someone show me exactly which two poles to jumper? TIA1 PhotoLast edited by handsworth; 07-31-2024, 09:42 PM.

That would depend on how deep the scratch is. This tip was told to me, Spray a little WD-40 in the scratch and let it sit for a minute or so. Rub it out with a micro soft cloth. Sometimes it works and sometimes not.

Thanks. I picked this one up today off the curb. Plugged it up and immediately thought Tcon. Had same symptoms as yours. ( blank screen ). Had good tcon leftover from 55S405. Tv works....

Disconnect leds from power supply and test leds with led tester.
