When using a cable box with an HDMI connection, I turn the set on and a scene flashes on the display, but then goes to black. When I bring up the sets Menu, this will run for an hour as well as anything else. I have replaced the cable box with no effect. I'm getting ready to try a Blu-Ray player to see how that acts.
Does anyone have thoughts? Thanks

Re: 55G310U Toshiba Dead
PS fuse checked OK, and with no standby voltage, I was assuming a PS problem. Thanks for the confirmation.

55G310U Toshiba Dead
Can't get anything out of it. Power supply outputs all ) as well. The obvious answer is Power Supply Board unless it needs to be switched on by the Main Board. Suggestions?
Thanksl

Tried everything suggested and no-go. It's headed to the curb. Thanks regardless

Any particular method for this pressure treatment?

Re: LG 47LS4500 picture issue
Tried squeezing bezel at top and bottom. No change--back panel is still removed from replacing PS.
I do get three blinks of the On/Off red light when the set turn on.

Do you mean squeeze bezel at top and bottom of lighter area?

LG 47LS4500 picture issue
After swapping the power supply, this is how the picture looks. Vertical band lighter top to bottom of display
PS had a number of issues bulged electrolytics, 15A fuse blown, and one ceramic cap bulged. Might have been other problems too, but swapping the PS was simplest fix, and I have no information if the set had this vertical bar before PS died.
Suggestions?
Thanks...

Re: LG 60UF7300-UT issue
Anyone suggest something a relative novice like myself can attempt?

LG 60UF7300-UT issue
No audio and unit will not show video except the brief Channel information in upper left corner.
Have done no diagnostic yet, but apparently LG had mainboard issues with solder joints. There's one guy on Youtube showing how you heat the motherboard in an oven to 385 for 10 minutes and this causes the solder to flow and correct the problem. Any input, before I try and roast my MB?...

Bump--anyone got input? The three boards as a set aren't that expensive, but no sense in buying two I don't need.
Thanks

Re: lg 43LF5400 - UB
My t-con board F1 is rated at 2 AMPS and 125V is this where I should get 12V?
The F1 fuse checked OK on my VOM, showed continuity.
Removed each CN3 & CN4 one at a time. Each time half screen lit, with other half remaining black, left then right....Last edited by Rmasters3; 01-08-2020, 10:07 AM.

Re: lg 43LF5400 - UB
Sorry for the delay--I'll blame it on the holidays.
Measuring voltages top to bottom when
OFF ON
1-- 0 0
2 --0 0
3 -- 8.75 13.2
4 -- 8.75 13.2
5 -- 0 3.2Last edited by Rmasters3; 01-04-2020, 12:02 PM.

Re: lg 43LF5400 - UB
Just picked up an LG 43LF5400 where the screen lights up some--even overall but not bright--but I cannot get an image on the screen when I hit Menu. Any quick and dirty, know fixes for these? From other posts I'm guessing main board. Thanks

Re: Visio E5501-B2 no picture or sound
And access to the boards is quick and easy. This last one was tossed by my neighbor but someone had broken the corner at the IR board, which I had to replace. I resoldered the connections (thanks again to the board members who made this so simple) and the set went to a good friend. He's my handyman and household fixer who has saved me big money over the years.

Resoldered those connections and it now works great. Thanks, gentlemen!

Thanks. Being a geezer, I am a lot more familiar with vacuum tube, hard wired stuff.
