Re: LG 65UH5500-UA common problem?
Swap the ribbon and let us know the results, of course only one half of the panel with work but at least it will put your mind at rest knowing its as simple as replacing the ribbon.
We're all waiting in suspense!Last edited by notallbad; 05-07-2020, 09:10 AM.Comment

Even after removing everything when changing the LED strips, there were no other ribbons besides the ones seen here. Moved the speakers in this pic.Comment

Just tried switching the ribbon from the side that was working to the defective side and same result
I will try messing with the U-ribbon on the side that is defective.
Hope it works.
I should probably return the ribbons I ordered from ebay then right?Comment

Re: LG 65UH5500-UA common problem?
you need to provide a better picture of the bottom edge board on the side showing the gray vertical bar so the forum can see how that side is interconnected. As pointed out, the "U" ribbon cables interconnect the bottom edge boards to complete the drive paths. However, on sets of this size, there may also be side tabs and / or side edge boards (similar to the bottom one) that also might have some interconnect cabling.
further as a test, you can disconnect the "u" cable on the "bad" side, you should then see about 1/4 quarter of the picture go white (or black) depending on design... including the grey area should be "gone".Last edited by budwich; 05-07-2020, 04:42 PM.Comment

Re: LG 65UH5500-UA common problem?
what ever you do, don't take it any further off as right now it is basically holding "alignment"... you might get lucky by very carefully cleaning what you can and possibly holding it back down with something.Comment

Yeah that is what I am thinking. But holding it down with what? Tape would work? People seem to be using ACF bonding tape. And what to clean it with?Comment

by soflesHi there,
Recently I bought broken Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2, the problem with them is that battery discharges on its own even with headphones turned off. It is a quite common issue with this model and even with model higher PX8.
With help of thermal camera I found out that there is one IC that is hot even with headphones turned off. To check if I'm correct I bought another PX7 S2 working one and replaced small charging board with this IC and problem solved, battery no more drains on its own. After changing board back to original problem returned so I'm 100% sure problem...-

by kdanielAs stated by the person I collected the TV from, it just stopped working overnight. However, I still gave it a go to try and repair it.
There is a thread on the same TV but with slightly different issues where they had to tape connection points on the ribbon cable, so I want to see if this is repairable by any chance.
After bringing it home and plugging it in, the TV turned on with its backlight working but had no picture. After removing the back cover, the first thing I tried is to unplug one of the ribbon cables and the situation is as follows.

by clooI recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.
So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...01-06-2025, 06:02 AM -
by Tr0llHi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.
The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... -
by TakeatrySamsung QLED QN50Q — purchased 2022 started experiencing a delay in the picture coming on in the morning less than 2 years later. Did not know the term boot loop at that time. As the loop delay ran into a few minutes did all the recommended troubleshooting, soft and hard reset, changing cables and outlet locations, no help. As the delay increased contacted Samsung tech group and allow them remote access the tv. Tech was moving too fast to see exactly what he was doing but this ultimately it was also no help. Lived with the delay until it stretched out over 6 hours. Pulled of off the back cover...2 Photos
