check the electrolytic capacitors near the connector on powerboard, the one with the cable from powerboard to mainboard, maybe one or more bad/weak, also check all your solder joints on the underside of board, examples of bad joints there: https://www.google.com/search?q=bad+...ih=607&dpr=1.5

Was interested to know what happened next, I have same TV but a weird problem ithink capacitor may have gone weak since it takes turning it on about 10 times for it to stay on and number of times seems to be increasing day by day , started to leave it on all night in radio mode, now it turned off and won't stay on beyond the logo, and doesn't get to blue screen if no signal

Well, decided to order another board so at least its up and running again. Eliminates power bd and panel etc..
Accessing terminal via uart I am able to do nandbin, nandbin2 & nandbinall which gives me
    CIS_BFN.BIN
    KL.BIN
    MBOOT.BIN
    MBOOTBAK.MBO
    NAND.BIN
    NAND.DEF (only 1kb?)
    PART1.BIN
    RTPM.BIN
    UBI.BIN
    UBILD.BIN
    UBIRO.BIN

Can these be used to create an .img file to recover the old board? or is there a way to create the restore .img file that I'm missing?

Meanwhile I have ordered some parts to hack up an interface to the tsop48 nand in-circuit to attempt a dump to flash to the old board.

I have at least now managed to connect via Usb-Uart, but what I do now is a mystery.
Connecting with a blank USB stick gets the filenames its looking for...worth noting for future reference.

I suspect the data you changed in the service menu is stored elsewere,(maybe in the same nand/spi/eeprom) and upgrading or replacing the firmware is not changing that data. That way when firmware is upgraded, important data is not changed.

Fat32 formatted and only the update/ upgrade files is the normal procedure which is what I did, unfortunately not being able to access the menu i.e unresponsive, the only option was to plug in the usb stick and power on. As I've said, it appears to be doing the upgrade process and completing.
I did check the usb ports havent got anything stuck inside making the tv think theres still a usb stick still mounted.

I think the USB stick has to be formatted as FAT32 with only the update files on it.

Unfortunately after it does the update the tv just power cycles (around 1 min) by itself with an unresponsive blue screen after the 'Blaupunkt' splash screen.
Remote control and keypad has no effect.
once the upgrade is done and the tv restarts are you taking the usb stick straight out im sure i had this issue and all it was i wasnt removing the usb stick once update had been done hence not booting fully

No, but think they only have limited knowledge i.e providing fw only, perhaps staff levels are low currently.

Been scratching my head all day over this.

Unable to get a Uart connection via vga port so guess thats not wired out on the board and no other obvious connections.

I also attempted to unpack the .bin file but only to get 2 header files, a lot of other stuff missing so unable to investigate the bin file either. Need to do more research on this.

I do have a rasp pi so intend on trying to read the nand that way but at the moment have no way of connecting to the nand on board (a '360-clip' looks ideal but pricey) though I think a replacement board is in order to at least see it up and running again and to prove everything else is ok. I have no intention on attempting to upgrade the fw, thats for sure! Then again if I can get a board cheap enough I might be tempted or stoopid enough to!

pity neither sorted the issue out though did you mentioned you altered something in the service menu by mistake? so i would of thought reloading the firmware would of solved it

    Hello to everyone ,

Anker SoundCore 2 Bluetooth Speaker Turns Off After a Few Seconds (Possibly Firmware Issue?)
    by zklgfs
    Hi,

I have an Anker SoundCore 2 (A3105) that I saved from the trash (well, I guess there's a reason why it was supposed to go into the trash...). The problem is that it always turns off after a few seconds (sometimes it stays on a bit longer, between 30 and 60 seconds, but it still turns off). The power light turns on and the bluetooth light starts blinking, but both abruptly turn off again. The "turn off sound" is still played after the lights turn off. Sometimes, it also loops the on-off cycle several times without me pressing any buttons. If I connect an AUX cable, music...

    Ubiquiti firmware help. US-8-150W POE
    by gurj1979
    Hi guys.

I've got a Ubiquiti US-8-150W POE switch which has issues with updating the firmware.
Turned out to be a bad EEPROM chip. It would read the firmware and work as normal, but failed to write new firmware to it.

So I took off the chip and read on EEPROM and saved it. Wrote to old chip and failed to write
Got New chip and writes good.

    THE PROBLEM...
It fails to fully load the firmware, POE lights fail to work during g firmware test during load. I'm suspecting bad EEPROM Read.

Does anyone have a Good Firmware I can have?...

    Hello Badcaps Community,

I purchased a preowned AOC monitor that is not working and out of warranty. It was sold as not working. I am looking for guidance on self-repair. In particular, I am after the firmware for the monitor. At the end, I have included monitor model information and links to pics and vids of the issue.

The problem is that it will not display a picture on any of its inputs. And the on-screen menu does not appear. The power button works properly. It powers on with the remote as well. But the on-screen menu does not appear, even when not connected to any...

    Hi,
I have OriginPC EON 15SL, however, my laptop starts and shutsdown after 1-2 second. Keyboard leds are coming on then fans spinning then it shutsdown and not turning back on unless I plug out the power cable and plug it in. I had issues with bricked BIOS then I flashed BIOS I got from the vendor to the SPI chip and still it didn’t worked because my EC firmware was newer than the BIOS I have flashed. So I wanted to try flashing the EC chip with the correct firmware that matches with the BIOS also from the vendor and it worked everything was well, and then stupid me wanted to unlock some...
