Seems like it or a bad connection in the backlights, did you try jiggling the backlight cable on the bad side?

I did try jiggling the cables. But now it looks like I'm back to square one. I swapped the LED driver boards just to see what would happen and then I had no picture. But I think I blew that board while testing awhile back. So I put the replacement board back in and then I had a picture. So I tried disconnecting the LED cables one at a time again, and now instead of the symptoms being on one side only, it's now on both sides.

Maybe the bad led if it is the problem just got worse, maybe very carefully tear it down and check the backlights and connections, the panels are VERY flimsy and easy to break, that's why you should test as much as you can before teardown, lots of videos on youtube of procedure, many use suction cups for lifting panel off more safely.

Thanks nomoresonys. I've done the voltage test and listed those earlier in the thread. I considered ordering another LED driver board just to see if it makes a difference. I've done a lot of backlight repairs so I might go ahead tear it down but I haven't decided for sure yet. I am so close to giving up on it but I have so much time and money in it now I would like to try to fix it.

I don't blame you, 50 is a pretty nice size, not too big and not too small, can put m in a lot of places.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Samsug washing machine. Power supply DC41-00189a board issue
              by Soulzink
              Hi everyone,

I am trying to fix a samsung washinmachine power supply main board.
I already replaced it with another one to fix the machine but i want to try understand the issue with the old board.
Therefore i hope to be able to get some help to explain what to check in order to troubleshoot.
The power supply board reference is the following: DC41-00189a
I have followed one thread (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...ingmachine-rel...

              Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
              by GLISIT
              Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply
              by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

Definitive technology SC 2000 subwoofer amp's power supply clicking and popping
              by JimBanville
The sub developed a constant popping every couple seconds from woofer and power LED flickering with nothing but wall AC connected. Connecting an audio cable didn't change anything. It doesn't play but a second or two of audio in between the pops.
Opened it up and discovered the power supply is making a faint clicking or ticking sound.
I measured the amp's output to the woofer and it pulses up to 50mv DC to be driver. The pulses coincide with the power supply ticking/clicking.
I measured the power supply output going to the amp board and it too has this pulsing. Voltage cycles...
