    LG 47LM4600 backlight off

    Hello,

    I have a LG 47LM4600 that I'm trying to repair. When you turn it on the LG logo comes on then the back lights go off, and I can see the screen only with a flash light.

    I tested the voltages from power board to main board and all were good except power on was not 24v it was 3.3v.

    The voltages going to the back lights are 16v and 54v on vc1. I thought it was a bad power supply board but same issue after replacing.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    It sounds like you have a back light issue.

        You will get a lot more helps if you upload good clear pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards, also pictures of the whole power supply board that is clear enough to read the pin out of the connector that goes to the power supply board.

        Power on pin is the PS-ON is the control signal from the main board to turn on the rest of the power supplies. You also have other control signals as well for the backlights circuit.

            Are you sure you count the connector pins correctly? It seems like you do not understand the pin assignment of the connector, there are 24 pins total.
            The connector has two column, the exposed pins as you can see from the top side of the board are for the printed pin names left column, I can see why you think PWR-ON is supposed to be 24V, it is not how they are setup, you have 24V pin and PWR-ON pin. To test the right column pins you will need skinny probe on the wire entrance side of the connector.
            You should use the attachment function to upload the pictures instead of using the link to the site where the pictures are.
            You need to report all the pin's Voltage reading in this format:
            When TV is plugged in but the power switch is not activated.
            P_DIM1 = xxx V
            12V = xxx V
            12v = xxx V
            3.5v = xxx V
            3.5v = xxx V
            24V = xxx V
            PWR-ON = xxx V
            ERROR = xxx V
            P-DIM = xxx V
            ......
            ......

            When TV power switch activated.
            P_DIM1 = xxx V
            12V = xxx V
            12v = xxx V
            3.5v = xxx V
            3.5v = xxx V
            24V = xxx V
            PWR-ON = xxx V
            ERROR = xxx V
            P-DIM = xxx V
            ......
            ......

              Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
              by Tynan Dill
              I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

              Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

              I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

              The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

              With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

              Sharp 80” long short flash backlight error - Help

              Hello Sharp TV experts
              Our Sharp LC-80LE642U displays one short one long flash error code which is a backlight error. I went into service mode and there were 8 lamp error counts recorded. I reset the count to 0 and did a reset. The last monitor error cause was 16 B00014639:12. 16 is the code for backlight error. I tried to power the tv up but went back into error mode.

              > I checked voltages on the power supply board and they all check out .. including 3.28 volts at the error pin.

              TCL U55C7006 TV does not start
              by janos6662000
              Hello
              I received from a friend from Norway a faulty TCL U55C7006 TV
              TV had a white power led on when powered on, later the LED went off, but no picture.
              Initially i thought that it has a bad backlight. I tested the led strips with a tester but they proved good. I also checked the screen with a powerful flashlight, but no sign of any signal on screen.
              I made some research and i discovered that the TV is an Android TV and the fault i have is often connected to a firmware problem.
              I downloaded some firmware images and made some trials.
              I tried with 3 different...

              Missing LCD Panel Voltages VGH, VGL, VCOM (TCL 55P6US Sound & Backlight but NO Picture)
              by maneatingmonkey
              I have a TCL 55P6US with sound and backlight but no picture. This model does not have a T-CON board, and the right (rear perspective) panel board is fed from the left panel board. I have not been able to induce any change by disconnecting the secondary panel board or the tape cut-off method on the primary board.

              There are a bunch of voltages missing on the panel boards. I can't find any shorted caps of the panel boards, and all of the missing voltage rails read in the kiloohms, which leads me to suspect the issue may lie on the circuit board, rather than a short in the panel.

              This is my first post on this forum, and my first attempted repair of a modern flat-screen LCD-TV (though I have repaired a few LCD-monitors, all with Elco-problems (high ESR). I have repaired my fair share of TV-sets and VCRs in the past ('90s) and was fairly familiar with the different Philips chassis (KT-3M, K12, K2, K3, K7 are some that come to mind). So I have a fair bit of experience on old sets. Obviously, modern TV sets are quite a different cup of tea.... no HOT or flyback-transformer inside, for starters....

              The set came into my possession by accident,...
